Senior AccountantKey Details:Location: 100% Onsite – Tulsa, OKDuration: Temporary (3+ Months)Schedule: Monday–Friday, Business HoursPay: $70k+ DOEOverviewRobert Half is seeking a Senior Accountant for a contract opportunity in Tulsa. This role is ideal for a critical, independent thinker who can step in and take ownership of the close process in a highly manual accounting environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in GAAP, the ability to work through complex reconciliations, and confidence in driving month-end close with minimal supervision.This position plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of financial reporting within a manufacturing environment, partnering closely with operations and project accounting.Key ResponsibilitiesTake lead on month-end and year-end close, including preparation and posting of journal entries and accrualsPrepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, resolving discrepancies in a timely mannerPerform cost accounting, including labor, overhead, and manufacturing variance analysisSupport inventory valuation (WIP, finished goods, excess/obsolete inventory)Manage fixed assets and capital project accountingReview project accounting results and ensure accurate recording in the general ledgerPrepare monthly financial statements and provide insight into cost and margin driversEnsure compliance with GAAP and internal controls in a manual-process environmentSupport internal and external audits QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance4–6+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environmentStrong, hands-on understanding of GAAP (must be able to apply—not just reference)Proven experience owning and driving the month-end close processSolid background in cost accounting, inventory, and labor/overhead ratesAdvanced Excel skills and experience working within ERP systemsAbility to work independently, think critically, and navigate manual processesWhat We’re Looking ForSomeone who can step in, take charge, and add immediate valueA detail-oriented professional who thrives in a hands-on, process-heavy environmentA strong communicator who can partner with both finance and operations teamsRobert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
