Director of OperationsWe are seeking a Director of Operations to lead our operations teams within a fast-paced 3PL environment, driving performance, efficiency, and continuous improvement across all managed transportation functions. This role is responsible for overseeing daily operations on the floor, ensuring shipments move efficiently and strategically, and driving continuous improvement across all processes.This leader will act as the critical link between the Operations team and the VP of Managed Transportation, ensuring alignment, accountability, and operational excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee day-to-day operations of the operations teams to ensure timely and efficient movement of LTL and FTL shipmentsConduct regular check-ins with team members to monitor performance, address challenges, and provide guidanceServe as the first line of support for the Operations team, assisting with problem-solving, questions, and escalationsStep in operationally when needed—dispatching shipments and supporting the floor during high-volume or short-staffed situationsCoach, mentor, and train team members to build confidence, improve performance, and strengthen problem-solving skillsEnsure adherence to all current SOPs and operational standardsPartner with the VP of Managed Transportation to develop, improve, and implement new SOPsAnalyze operational metrics and performance data to drive efficiency, cost savings, and service improvementsManage issue resolution related to shipments, carriers, and operational disruptionsEscalate customer-impacting issues to the VP of Managed Transportation as appropriateFoster a collaborative, positive, and high-performance team environmentIdentify opportunities for continuous improvement across workflows, team performance, and cost efficiencyMaintain availability for emergency situations outside of standard business hoursQualificationsStrong experience in 3PL, logistics, or managed transportation operationsDeep understanding of LTL and FTL shipping, terminology, numbers and processesProven ability to lead from the front—both managing and executing operational work when neededStrong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and drive decisionsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to work with diverse personalitiesDemonstrated leadership in coaching, mentoring, and team developmentAbility to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with competing prioritiesStrong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively to improve processesHigh level of accountability, organization, and attention to detailWhat We’re Looking ForA leader who is approachable, personable, and genuinely enjoys helping others succeedSomeone who listens first, leads with empathy, and builds team confidenceA proactive problem-solver who can manage chaos and bring structure to complex operationsA continuous improvement mindset—always looking for better ways to operate internally and externallyWork Environment & ExpectationsFast-paced, dynamic operations environmentHands-on leadership role with both strategic and tactical responsibilitiesOccasional after-hours availability for urgent operational issuesPrimary GoalDrive continuous improvement across operations—enhancing efficiency, team performance, and customer outcomes while maintaining a high standard of execution.
