Quality Inspector (QC Specialist)Location: Novi, MIPay: $22/hourLong term contract to hirePosition OverviewWe are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to support manufacturing operations by ensuring products and processes meet established quality standards. In this role, you'll work closely with production and leadership teams to identify issues, maintain compliance, and drive continuous improvement-all while promoting a strong "Zero Defect" culture.Key ResponsibilitiesInspection & Quality ControlPerform incoming, in-process, and final inspections on products and manufacturing processesConduct audits including torque checks, visual inspections, and internal buy-offs (IBOs)Identify and report non-conforming materials or processesTrack and ensure timely resolution of quality issuesData & Continuous ImprovementCollect, analyze, and report quality data to support decision-makingMonitor key quality metrics and department performanceMaintain and improve inspection checklists and proceduresSupport continuous improvement initiatives across the shop floorCollaboration & SupportAct as a key quality contact for production supervisors and manufacturing teamsPartner with cross-functional teams to maintain high quality standardsAlign quality objectives with overall plant goalsTraining & GuidanceSupport and coach team members on quality procedures and best practicesAssist in promoting a culture focused on quality, accountability, and continuous improvementRequired Skills & Qualifications3-5 years of experience in quality inspection or quality control (automotive or manufacturing preferred)Ability to read and interpret engineering drawingsHands-on experience using precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.)Familiarity with:Non-Conformance Reporting (NCR) processesStatistical Process Control (SPC)Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma principlesProficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience with APQP and product/process development cyclesQuality certification (e.g., Six Sigma, CQI, or similar)Understanding of Cost of Poor Quality and customer satisfaction metricsWhat Success Looks LikeConsistent adherence to quality standards and inspection processesAccurate and timely identification of quality issuesStrong contribution to continuous improvement effortsPositive impact on customer satisfaction and overall product qualityHRU is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
