Customer Service Representative

We are looking for a Customer Service Representative to support a nonprofit organization in Monterey, California through a contract-to-permanent opportunity. This role focuses on assisting visitors, handling payment transactions, and providing clear guidance during public-facing events. The ideal candidate is comfortable interacting with a high volume of people, delivering courteous service, and maintaining accuracy in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: • Welcome attendees and provide helpful directions and information throughout event operations. • Process credit card and cash transactions accurately while following established payment procedures. • Respond to customer questions in person and over the phone with professionalism and efficiency. • Support inbound and outbound communication related to customer service needs and event coordination. • Enter and update order or transaction details with careful attention to accuracy. • Work closely with onsite leadership to ensure smooth daily operations and consistent service delivery. • Resolve routine customer concerns promptly and escalate more complex issues when needed. • At least 1 year of customer service experience in a call center, event, retail, or similar public-facing setting. • Experience handling credit card and cash transactions with a strong focus on accuracy. • Ability to manage inbound calls and communicate clearly with customers in busy environments. • Familiarity with order entry or basic data entry tasks. • Strong interpersonal skills and a detail-oriented, service-oriented approach. • Ability to remain organized, dependable, and calm while supporting high-volume activity.
