SummaryJob Description:Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery/AntepartumLocation: Baptist Health LexingtonSchedule: Full-time | 3rd Shift (Nights) | 12-hour shifts | 3 days per weekAbout Labor and Delivery: Labor and Delivery is a high risk specialized unit that provides care to pregnant individuals prior to and during labor, childbirth, and the immediate postpartum period. This unit has 17 private birthing suites, 5 Triage/PACU beds, 4 OR Rooms, 3 bed Obstetric Emergency Department care, and a specialized Antepartum unit that provides care for women with high-risk pregnancies and post-partum diagnoses needing supportive care.Job Summary:The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers compassionate, evidence-based care designed to support healing and wellness. In this role, you'll coordinate, ensure, and provide direct patient care while creating an environment rooted in dignity, respect, and empathy. You will use your clinical expertise and critical thinking to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care for patients across the lifespan.As a clinical nurse, you'll spend the majority of your time (>50%) coordinating, ensuring, and providing direct patient care through:Conducting nursing rounds, assessments, and treatmentsFacilitating admissions, transfers, and dischargesProviding patient and family-centered educationCoordinating care and developing individualized treatment plansKey Responsibilities:Perform comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans based on patient needsAdminister medications and implement nursing interventions in accordance with best practices and hospital policyCommunicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated careMonitor and document patient responses, revising care plans as neededSupport a culture of safety, quality improvement, and compassionate serviceMentor and support colleagues and new team members, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required:Current RN licensure or work permit in KentuckyBachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited college/university or an associate degree with a minimum of ten (10) years' experience required.
