The Anduril Flight Engineering team is integral to development of flight system solutions in all domains for our warfighters. As a critical member of our team, the role of a Modeling, Simulation and Analysis (MSA) Engineer is pivotal in driving the design, development, testing, and implementation of cutting-edge flight system technologies for our aerospace systems. Anduril fosters a dynamic learning culture, characterized by accelerated knowledge acquisition through modeling, simulation, analysis, and rigorous and frequent ground and flight test experimentation. At Anduril, you will be involved in flight testing the systems you develop.ABOUT THE JOBWe are looking for a Modeling, Simulation and Analysis Engineer to join our team. As part of the team you will have the opportunity to develop, implement and maintain a sufficient fidelity virtual representations of the myriad of different vehicles Anduril works on. In this role you will be required to develop and coordinate deployment and maintenance of vehicle models and simulation instantiations for various programs on going at Anduril.The ideal candidate has experience working on aerospace systems and understands the right fidelity of sub-system and system level modeling required to integrate with the broader flight control and mission autonomy software to support development. The role requires the individual to be proficient in vehicle/sub-system modeling and well-versed in coding practices and software integration practices. If you have a passion for flight and like the idea of building a physics based digital representation of a flying vehicle this is the role for you!WHAT YOU'LL DOWork on challenging problems in a fast-paced environment from across our portfolio of programs and products:Simulation solutions for Guidance, Navigation and Control algorithm developmentSoftware-In-The-Loop (SITL) solutionsHardware-In-The-Loop (HITL) solutionsPilot-In-The-Loop (PITL) solutionsCustomer product training solutionsMonte-Carlo simulation analysisSimulation and Test data analysis tools and processesWork with multi-disciplinary subject matter experts to understand and adequately model pertinent sub-system, system and system of system dynamicsWork with internal and external customers to understand simulation requirements and develop efficient modeling and simulation solutionsOwn the end-to-end configuration of our SITL, HITL, and PITL for our test vehicles in support of safe and efficient flight testsREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's Degree or higher in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, chemistry, or related technical disciplineExperience with aerospace/aeronautical systems (including rotorcraft/VTOL) and/or Subsea vehiclesExperience in flight dynamics/platform physics and controlProficiency with C/C++Advanced proficiency with scientific computing systems (Mathworks products (e.g., MATLAB, SIMULINK etc.), scientific Python (e.g., numpy, scipy)Flight test data processing/sim correlation experienceExperience with developing sub-system and system level models (Air vehicle, ground vehicles, ground based sensors and other types of complex systems)Experience with model development to support Guidance, Navigation and Control algorithm developmentMust be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS clearancePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS7 or more years of related experienceAdvanced proficiency with C/C++Flight test support experienceExperience with SITL and HITL simulation infrastructure design, development and deployment for complex systemsExperience with developing emulated/simulation interfaces for on-board avionicsUS Salary Range$191,000-$253,000 USDThe salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
