Controls Engineer

BrainWorks Search is partnered with a leading automotive manufacturer outside of Detroit seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to join its team. This is a hands-on, plant-floor-focused role supporting controls and automation within a highly automated manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Troubleshoot PLCs and automated manufacturing equipment Utilize ladder logic to diagnose controls-related issues Determine whether equipment issues are related to the physical machine or software/controls Support robotics and automated manufacturing cells Partner with Maintenance and Engineering to troubleshoot equipment downtime Provide hands-on controls support on the manufacturing floor Qualifications 3–7+ years of controls, automation, electrical, or industrial maintenance experience preferred Strong PLC troubleshooting and ladder-logic experience Experience with Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens controls preferred Die-casting experience strongly preferred; injection molding or extrusion environments will also be considered Compensation & Benefits Base salary: $80,000–$110,000, with flexibility based on experience Fully company-paid employee medical benefits Relocation assistance available BrainWorks is a premier executive search firm that delivers superior talent to drive business performance.
