Fleet is headquartered in Denver, Colorado, with satellite offices in Seattle, WA and Arlington, VA.Position Overview:The Director of Construction will lead the execution of large-scale, mission-critical data center campus developments across the Austin, TX region. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of construction delivery, including site development, core and shell, and critical infrastructure systems (electrical and mechanical), ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.The ideal candidate brings deep experience managing hyperscale or large-scale data center construction projects and has a strong understanding of mission-critical systems, construction sequencing, contractor management, and program execution at scale. This individual will partner closely with internal engineering, development, and operations teams while leading general contractors and trade partners across multiple concurrent builds.Key Responsibilities:Lead regional team end-to-end construction execution of hyperscale data center campuses from site development through commissioning and turnoverManage general contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure adherence to scope, schedule, and budgetOnboard new Vendors and establish a pipeline of resources for your region.Oversee construction of mission-critical systems including MV/LV distribution, generators, UPS systems, and mechanical cooling infrastructureDrive project scheduling, sequencing, and phasing across multi-building campus environmentsEnforce safety standards and promote a strong safety culture across all active job sitesPartner with internal engineering and design teams to ensure constructability and alignment with Fleet standardsMonitor project budgets, forecasts, and cost controls while identifying and mitigating risksLead site meetings, reporting cadence, and executive-level updates on project progressManage permitting, inspections, and regulatory compliance within local jurisdictionsOversee commissioning efforts to ensure systems meet performance and reliability requirementsResolve field issues, design conflicts, and schedule impacts in real timeSupport procurement strategy and contract negotiations with key vendors and contractorsBuild and lead high-performing construction teams across multiple projectsEstablish and maintain construction standards, processes, and best practicesRequired Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field10+ years of construction experience with at least 5+ years leading large-scale or mission-critical projectsProven experience delivering data center, industrial, or large infrastructure construction projectsStrong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems within mission-critical environmentsExperience managing large budgets and complex construction schedulesDemonstrated ability to lead contractors and cross-functional teamsExcellent communication skills with ability to interface with executives and external partnersStrong stakeholder management across engineering, development, and operations teamsAbility to analyze project performance, track KPIs, and drive improvementsPreferred Qualifications:Experience working with hyperscale data center developers, operators, or general contractorsFamiliarity with cloud provider infrastructure requirements (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)Experience delivering large-scale campus environments (100MW+ projects)Professional certifications such as PMP, CCM, or PEExperience operating in fast-growth or multi-site environments Self-directed leader with a track record of scaling construction operations and processes.
