Construction Project Manager

Project ManagerThe Project Manager manages and oversees interior construction of demountable walls, case work, lab benching, and other components. This role leads the coordination of client site activity with the organization's installation teams and construction partners. The Project Manager is the central point of contact and ensures projects are completed on time and on budget.Primary responsibilities are to plan, schedule, and inspect the work of employees engaged in installation, maintenance, and service work. Conduct site visits to ensure the highest quality and customer satisfaction levels. Serve as the main point of contact for all stakeholders during planning and installation.The ideal candidate is experienced in managing multiple projects, managing all project requirements and working well with others on the project team.Duties and responsibilities include:Provide on-site project management for internal installation teams and subcontractors.Create and manage project schedules that align with clients, architects, engineers, designers, general contractors, manufacturer timelines.Manage internal safety programs and reinforce client safety protocols with project team members.Main point of contact and communicator for project including the delivery of daily, weekly and monthly reports with progress photos as required.Work with clients, product partners and general contractors to identify and define requirements, scope, and objectives during preconstruction and construction.Lead value engineering efforts and propose alternative solutions with the project stakeholders.Attend bid walks as needed and capture information to support preconstruction activity.Read and understand project plans, bid packages, and specifications. Articulate essential items and make recommendations for exclusions and inclusions.Determine scope changes to protect and maximize project profitability.Understand contractual requirements and documentation. And oversee the delivery of documentation to ensure project compliance.Estimate installation of projects based on bid specs.Coordinate project team to ensure timely coordination of submittals, RFI's, and plan revisions.Create and submit accurate Change Orders and Punch Item orders in a timely fashion.Coordinate procurement schedules and provide takeoffs to purchasing to ensure accurate and timely delivery of materialsEnsure quality standards and requirements are met on every projectCreate and maintain project schedule using tools providedAssess and develop relationships with local and Network installation teamsInitiate learning opportunities: train and develop crew members and sub-contractors on products and installation procedures to meet client expectations and maintain McCoy-Rockford's standardsParticipate in construction meetings and determine field dimensionsCheck product for discrepancies and damage and communicate issues to responsible partiesMonitor and enforce company and client rules, regulations, and safety requirements and attend monthly safety meetingsDocument and hand off fully executable punch list to Customer Service CoordinatorMaintain your customer site specific badge requirements; partner with Safety & Compliance Coordinator as neededNothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time. This job description does not constitute a written or implied contract of employment.Key selection and success factors include:Work experience:Construction industry related project management skills and 3+ years' construction related experience2+ years of team lead experienceExperience using construction management system/software as a project manager preferredEducation/Qualifications:High School Diploma/GED required; technical degree preferredCan drive company vehicles complying with McCoy-Rockford's driving standards and maintaining a clear driving recordAbility to prepare and interpret flowcharts, schedules (including Gantt charts), and step-by-step action plansAbility to read and understand architectural and structural plans, as well as working knowledge of the local Building Code and regulationHands-on experience with project management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite)PMP, CMT, or Project management certification is a plusOther/Preferred:Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and dedicationSolid organizational skills, including multitasking and time managementEffective problem solving and decision-making skillsAbility to communicate on a technical and professional level with project stakeholdersSkilled at negotiating with clients and vendorsStrong client-facing skills, both written and verbalAdaptable and willing to embrace new technologies to help improve the design and construction processAbility to travel frequently in the local/regional area as needed and provide personal transportationAbility to effectively manage both Houston and Austin marketsWork environment:Able to travel to customer and other job sitesAble to work overtime with little advance notice, when neededFrequently exposed to moving mechanical partsOccasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, excessive heat, cold and precipitationThe noise level in the work environment is usually moderateFrequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, sit/or and walk stairsRequired to carry pieces weighing up to 50 pounds without mechanical assistanceVision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.Work overtime as needed with little advanced notice.
