Learn more about us (3) LER TechForce: Life | LinkedInWhat you will be doing:We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented, and hands-on IT Network Technician to join our growing IT team. The Network Technician will be responsible for the physical installation, termination, testing, and certification of structured cabling and network infrastructure across our facilities, including manufacturing plants and office environments. The ideal candidate will bring field experience with low-voltage cabling systems, ethernet cable certification, and the ability to safely operate aerial lift equipment in dynamic work environments.Cabling & Infrastructure Installation:Install, terminate, and certify Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A ethernet cabling in accordance with TIA/EIA-568 standards.Run and dress cable through conduit, cable trays, j-hooks, and raceways across manufacturing and office environments.Terminate and test all copper and fiber optic connections using industry-standard certification equipment (e.g., Fluke DSX, Versiv).Install and label patch panels, wall plates, faceplates, and telecommunications enclosures.Aerial & Elevated Work:Safely operate scissor lifts and other aerial lift equipment to install overhead cabling infrastructure.Maintain compliance with all OSHA and site-specific safety requirements when working at height.Complete and maintain scissor lift operator certification and adhere to all pre-operation inspection procedures.Testing & Certification:Perform full link and channel certification testing on all installed copper cabling using approved test equipment.Generate and review certification test reports, ensuring all runs meet or exceed TIA/EIA pass thresholds.Troubleshoot and remediate any cabling failures identified during testing or post-installation.Maintenance & Support:Assist with moves, adds, and changes (MACs) to the structured cabling plant as directed.Support network infrastructure troubleshooting efforts alongside IT and OT teams.Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including proper disposal of cabling waste.Documentation:Maintain accurate as-built drawings, cable schedules, and port labeling documentation.Submit daily work logs and test result reports to the project supervisor.Update asset tracking systems with installed equipment and cable run records.What you'll need to be successful:Essential:High school diploma or GED required; technical trade school or associate degree in a related field preferred.Experience:• 2–5 years of hands-on experience in structured cabling installation and termination.• Experience working in active manufacturing or commercial construction environments preferred.Technical Skills:• Proficiency in terminating and testing Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A copper cabling.• Familiarity with fiber optic cabling (splicing, termination, and testing) is a plus.• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and cable schedules.• Experience with cable certification test equipment (Fluke, IDEAL, or equivalent).Required Certifications:• Ethernet cabling certification required (e.g., BICSI Installer, Fluke Certification, or manufacturer-specific certification such as Belden, CommScope, or Panduit).• Valid scissor lift operator certification required (or ability to obtain upon hire).• OSHA 10 certification preferred.Soft Skills:• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.• Good communication skills and the ability to coordinate with other trades and IT staff.• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in elevated or confined spaces.What you'll get:Full benefits: medical, dental, vision, HSA and FSA401K with a match and immediate vestingShort-term & Long-term disability, life insurance and other optional benefitsEmployee Assistance ProgramEmployee DiscountsOngoing professional development opportunities including Technical Training and Leadership DevelopmentThe opportunity to work on industry leading projects
