LocationSimi Valley, CA (Local candidates preferred; Remote considered)Duration: Through April 2027 with potential extensionEmployment Type: Part-Time (20 hours/week)Start Date: Mid-AugustCitizenship Requirement: U.S. Citizenship RequiredOverviewWe are seeking an experienced Scrum Master to support a software development team working on an advanced autonomous/autopilot software program. This individual will partner closely with Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, and Program Management to drive Agile execution, coordinate releases, manage project tracking, and ensure successful delivery of a complex software development effort.The ideal candidate must have prior familiarity with DO-178 software development andcertification processes, including managing traceability from system and softwarerequirements through implementation, verification, and testing.Key Responsibilities• Lead Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.• Coordinate sprint execution and ensure timely delivery of software releases.• Partner with Software IPT Leads, Program Managers, Software Architects, and Systems Engineers to plan and prioritize work.• Create, maintain, and manage Jira epics, stories, tasks, defects, and workflows.• Support release planning, roadmap execution, and sprint forecasting.• Track project progress, risks, dependencies, blockers, and key milestones.• Manage software defects and facilitate cross-functional issue resolution.• Maintain DO-178 requirements traceability from requirements through implementation, verification, and testing.• Generate project metrics, dashboards, and executive status reports.• Drive continuous process improvement across Agile delivery practices.• Help ensure the software development team remains on schedule and aligned with program objectives.Required Qualifications• U.S. Citizen (Required)• 5+ years of Scrum Master experience supporting professional software development teams.• Deep knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.• Advanced proficiency with Jira.• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical discipline.• Hands-on familiarity with DO-178 software development, certification processes, requirements traceability, verification, and testing.• Experience coordinating work across software architects, systems engineers, developers, and QA teams.• Strong communication, facilitation, project tracking, and stakeholder management skills.Preferred Qualifications• Aerospace, defense, autonomous systems, embedded software, or avionics experience.• Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM, SAFe Scrum Master, or equivalent).• Experience with DOORS, Polarion, Jama, or similar requirements management tools.• Experience supporting highly regulated engineering programs.Preferred SkillsAgile Delivery • Scrum • Jira • Sprint Planning • Release Management • DO-178 • RequirementsTraceability • Defect Management • Risk & Dependency Management • Executive Reporting • SDLC
