Job TypeFull-timeDescriptionSaint Rose of Lima Parish is seeking a passionate and faith-filled individual to serve as theYouth and Young Adult Minster (YYAM). This ministry-centered role is dedicated to leadingMS students, high school students, and young adults (21 to 35 year of age) closer to JesusChrist through meaningful relationships, solid Catholic teaching, and engaging communityexperiences.The incumbent will implement the Life Teen Ministry Program, which creates a safe andwelcoming space for teens to grow in faith, connect with peers, and experience the love ofChrist in a personal. Life Teen resources support youth ministers in planning dynamic semesterschedules, organizing retreats and events, and training volunteer leaders (Core Team) toaccompany students in their faith journey.In addition, the incumbent will chair the Youth Ministry Council and provide administrativesupport for Young Adults, Fraternus, Fidelis, the Troops of Saint George, BSA Troop 538, and Scouting America Girls Troop 835.For the summer months, the incumbent will help the Religious Education Director with Totus Tuus; the YYA Minister will help prepare and oversee the Totus Tuus evening program (7-12 grades). The Youth Minister will also be responsible for planning and attending a summer camp experience, such as Life Teen's Camp Covecrest.Essential Tasks:- Provide leadership and support for all youth ministries and young adult ministries in theparish, including Young Adults, Life Teen, Fraternus, Fidelis, Troops of Saint George,BSA 538, and Scouting America Girls Troop 835.- Chairs the Youth Ministry Council, which coordinates all of the lead stakeholders in theyouth and young adult ministries of the parish.- Mentor the spiritual and moral development of high school students, MS students, andyoung adults within the parish.- Manage camp and retreat registrations, safe environment compliance, and otheradministrative procedures for all relevant ministries.- Communicate ministry information clearly and effectively to participants, parents,students, and parish staff as needed.- Recruit, train, and manage committed volunteer leaders and team members.- Plan and oversee all young adult and youth ministry events, including retreats, camps,excursions, and service opportunities.- Cultivate strong, supportive relationships within the parish and the broader Murfreesboro community.In addition, the Youth and Young Adult Minister will cultivate a vibrant and growing community of young adults. This role focuses on both spiritual formation and community building.Tasks Include:- Coordinating and leading regular Bible studies rooted in Scripture and Church teaching.- Planning and hosting monthly social gatherings that foster friendship, joy, and authenticCatholic community.- Organizing quarterly formative events to support spiritual growth and deeperengagement with the faith.- Taking initiative to grow the ministry both spiritually and numerically through outreach,personal invitation, and consistent presence.RequirementsQualifications:- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) required.- Substantial training and experience in Catholic doctrine and youth ministry.- Willingness to engage further training in theology and ministry as needed.- Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church.- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
