This position processes the opening of new accounts and the servicing of existing accounts while maintaining relationships for consumer and business deposit account customers. The Community Banker I assists customers, receives deposits, processes checks, disburses funds, verifies the accuracy of transactions and identifies fraudulent activity. This position utilizes sales and service strategies to retain existing relationships and enable growth of new relationships as well as participates in follow-up strategies. The Community Banker I reports to the Office Manager and provides excellent service and support to team members and customers while demonstrating the Company’s values and supporting the mission.Position Duties And ResponsibilitiesPerform duties of both Customer Service Representative and Personal Banker based on customer demand within a bank officePerform bank office activities to include providing service and support to customers, receiving deposits, processing checks, disbursing funds and verifying the accuracy of transactionsGuard against loss by ensuring safekeeping of money in cash drawer and prompt accounting or transfer of funds. Identify fraudulent activity.Enter transactions in bank’s recordkeeping system, recording all transactions and producing customer receiptsPerform teller capture dutiesBalance cash drawer at end of shiftMaintain a work area that protects all negotiables and confidential recordsMaintain knowledge of new and existing products and servicesProcess the opening of new accounts and the servicing of existing accounts while maintaining relationships for consumer and business deposit account customersResponsible for exception resolutionAssist customers in use of online banking and mobile applications utilizing various electronic delivery channelsStay abreast of changes and updates to bank products and policies and ensure the accuracy of information provided to customersIdentify and capitalize on opportunities to refer new banking products and services to the appropriate business partnerAttend training as requestedParticipate in outside community activities as requiredAdhere to compliance with all federal bank regulations and laws, including those for consumer protection and the Bank Secrecy Act/Anti-Money Laundering ProgramPerform other duties as assignedRequired QualificationsHigh School diploma or GED1 year of retail banking experience preferredAbility to serve customers in a courteous and professional mannerAbility to build relationships with customers and internal teammatesBasic organization and time management skillsAbility to develop and maintain working knowledge of Bank products, services, policies, procedures, and systemsEffective verbal and written communication skillsExcellent interpersonal, critical thinking and problem-solving skillsHigh standards for integrity, honesty, professionalism, and work ethicCommitment to service excellenceAbility to work independently while demonstrating excellent organization and follow throughDemonstrate flexible and efficient time management and ability to prioritize workloadAbility and willingness to work with purpose and a strong sense of urgencySelf-starter, positive and enthusiastic with a desire to exceed expectationsMaintain a professional demeanor at all times, using appropriate levels of confidentiality and discretionAbility to effectively work in collaboration with othersAbility to work Saturdays on a rotating basisAbility travel to other offices within region as scheduledParticipation in community events as requiredWilling to grow and be challengedComprehensive Benefits & RecognitionWe believe success should be acknowledged and celebrated.
