Manufacturing Plant Engineer

PURPOSE: Plant Engineering implements capital projects and provides engineering support for the Consumable and Machine divisions of the Cleveland Operations. Mechanical engineers are responsible for the mechanical aspects of the projects including facilities preparation, equipment designs and equipment installations. They also provide support for production and work on improvements to the existing equipment and facilities to improve health and safety, productivity, quality, and cost. JOB DESCRIPTION (DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES): · Work in a team, hands on, environment on capital and strategic projects for the Cleveland Operation production facilities. · Responsible for the mechanical aspects of the projects including facilities preparation, equipment design and equipment installation. · Work on engineering solutions to improve equipment reliability and safety, lower operational and maintenance costs, and improve ergonomics. · Engineer solutions that comply with ISO 14001 and EHS initiatives to improve the environmental & employee health & safety. · Interface with all engineering, manufacturing and maintenance departments along with R&D, QA, and Supply Management to ensure accuracy of project design target details. · Provide technical support to Production and Maintenance departments. · Work with and often manage outside engineering and construction personnel. · Ensure all safety, health, environmental, and compliance aspects for the project meet the appropriate regulations. · Additional responsibilities as assigned by managers within the Plant Engineering department. · Performs engineering work in operations, production, construction or maintenance environments · Designs and scales up manufacturing processes, instruments and equipment and tests manufactured products to maintain quality. · Plans, designs and estimates time and cost and oversees construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, systems and components. · Analyzes and develops solutions to engineering problems related to manufacturing equipment and systems or the causes of component failures. · Develops and applies engineering standards and procedures and provides advice on issues within the engineering field. · Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company’s 2025 Strategy. BASIC REQUIREMENTS: · Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering. · Minimum of 3+ year professional experience. · Excellent organizational skills. · Excellent written and oral communications skills. · Must have good judgment, be self-motivated and be safety conscious. · Strong desire to take ownership and drive results. · Ability to handle a variety of assignments and changing priorities. · Ability to occasionally work off shifts, between facilities in Northeast Ohio, and travel as required. · Ability to perform hands on work as required and work effectively on the shop floor with employees and processes. · Ability to handle small to medium sized projects and day-to-day shop support with supervision. · Experience with Solid Edge CAD modelling software is preferred. · Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, EPA and OSHA standards is preferred. · Continues to build knowledge of the organization, processes and customers · Performs a range of mainly straightforward assignments · Uses prescribed guidelines or policies to analyze and resolve problems Job Type: Full-time Pay: $55,500.00 - $105,400.00 per year Benefits: 401(k) matching Dental insurance Flexible schedule Health insurance Paid time off Tuition reimbursement Vision insurance Experience level: 3 years Schedule: 8 hour shift Work setting: In-person Manufacturing facility Application Question(s): Will you know or in the future require Sponsorship?
