Role: Postgres SQL DB Admin with AWSLocation: Chandler, AZFulltimeSalary Range: $100,000-$120,000/YearJob DescriptionMust Have Technical/Functional SkillsPrimary Skill: Postgres SQL DB Admin, AWSSecondary: Terraform, Open Shift ContainersExperience: Minimum 7 YearsRoles & ResponsibilitiesWe re seeking a hands-on engineer to own PostgreSQL database operations on AWS covering provisioning, performance tuning, high availability, automation, monitoring, and cost optimization.The ideal candidate blends deep Postgres administration with AWS platform expertise, uses Infrastructure as Code, and thrives in a production support environment with strong incident management and continuous improvement mindset.5+ years of AWS experience5+ years Cloud/AWS/Terraform and PostgreSQL expertiseKey ResponsibilitiesDatabase Operations (PostgreSQL)Administer and optimize PostgreSQL across Amazon RDS/Aurora PostgreSQL and EC2/self-managed (where applicable).Perform performance tuning: query plans, indexes, vacuum/analyze, auto vacuum tuning, connection management (Pg Bouncer), partitioning, statistics, and parameter tuning.Own backup/restore, PITR, logical/physical replication (streaming, logical decoding) and cross-region DR strategies.Implement and maintain HA (Multi-AZ, Aurora clusters, Patroni or equivalent), DR runbooks, and failover testing.Lifecycle management: upgrades, patching, extensions (e.g., PostGIS, pg_partman, pg_stat_statements), and schema change orchestration (e.g., with Liquibase/Flyway).Capacity planning: storage, IOPS, throughput; prevent bloat and hot spots.
