CNC Supervisor - Night Shift
CNC SupervisorJOB SUMMARY:The CNC Supervisor will oversee machine production and apply knowledge of mechanics to product quality precision parts. The Supervisor will also develop new CNC programs for production runs or modify existing programs for different machines. During the manufacturing process, the Supervisor will perform quality checks with the machine operator to ensure the program is producing parts according to specifications, making manual adjustments if necessary.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Develop CNC programs for production runsModify existing programs for different machinesDirectly supervise employees and work directly with management.Carry out daily operations in production when manager is not available.Train employees on how to properly operate CNC machines and programsTroubleshoot and resolve problems with machines as they arisePerform basic machine maintenance such as cleaning and sharpeningRead technical drawings and set up the machines in accordance with these blueprintsUse computer software to model cutting paths and program machines accordinglyPerform quality assurance tests to ensure products meet design specificationsConsider tools required to cut particular materials and program machines accordinglyEnsure that all equipment is functioning properly. Reports maintenance issues to manager.Ensures operators understand and meet all quality expectations for their specific job.Working from production schedule and lead machinists in daily work activities.Organize and plan; make efficient use of time and schedule product flow.Scheduling: Manpower requirements, effective planning of lead time and maintenance to insure completion of production schedule.Ensure housekeeping is maintained.Ensure that employees have tools and resources necessary to be successful.Set hourly/daily performance targets and hold operators responsible for meeting those targets.Maintain employee relations, working with other managers and supervisors.Focus on safety issues throughout the shop and train new employees in safety procedures in their work area.REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or equivalent qualification required6 to 10 Years of experienceCompletion of a technical or associate degree program a plusProgramming experience is a PLUS and/or software knowledgeExperience programming Mori Seiki or comparable lathes and mills with Fanuc controlsBasic math skills and basic computer skills requiredExperience working in a manufacturing setting requiredStrong attention to detailFamiliarity and skill with interpreting technical drawings and blueprintsSkilled at troubleshooting and resolving mechanical or logistical problems that ariseAbility to work independently and closely follow directions is essentialShould have a positive and professional attitudeCapable of standing for extended periods of timeAbility to lift up to 50 pounds for short periods of time
