Non-sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician
Summary:
We are a fast-growing, independent compounding pharmacy serving the Tampa Bay Area with a focus on high-quality sterile and non-sterile medications for specialized therapies including ophthalmology, wellness & anti-aging, hormone replacement therapy (HRT), and weight loss. As we experience rapid volume growth, we are seeking a dedicated Non-Sterile Compounding Pharmacy Technician to play a critical role in ensuring safe, accurate, and compliant preparation of patient-specific medications. This position is essential to maintaining our commitment to precision, regulatory compliance, and exceptional patient care under the direct supervision of licensed pharmacists. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and passionate about advancing their skills in a dynamic compounding environment.
Responsibilities:
Prepare non-sterile compounded medications including suspensions, creams, solutions, ointments, capsules, and suppositories
Verify compounding formulations with the supervising pharmacist prior to preparation
Accurately measure, weigh, and combine ingredients in accordance with prescriptions and established protocols
Properly package, label, and apply correct beyond-use dating to all compounded products
Maintain comprehensive records including cleaning logs, equipment logs, daily temperature checks, and scale verification
Submit completed compounds and documentation for pharmacist review and approval
Participate in ongoing training, team meetings, and quality improvement initiatives
Foster a collaborative and professional work environment through clear, respectful communication
Requirements
Active Florida Pharmacy Technician Registration
Minimum 1 year of experience as a licensed pharmacy technician
High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited pharmacy technician training program is preferred
Demonstrated knowledge of non-sterile compounding standards, including USP and hazardous compounding guidelines
Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all tasks
Proven ability to follow SOPs and regulatory requirements consistently
Strong documentation, record-keeping, and organizational skills
Excellent interpersonal and teamwork abilities
Reliable work ethic with a commitment to professionalism and continuous improvement
Prior compounding experience is strongly preferred
Schedule: Monday – Friday; closed on weekends and major holidays
Location: Tampa Bay Region, Florida (Northern Pinellas County)
