Inventory Specialist - Warehouse Operations, Shipping & Receiving, Supply ChainJob SummaryWe are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Inventory Specialist to oversee daily warehouse operations, shipping & receiving, inventory control, and supply chain coordination. This role is responsible for accurate inventory tracking, material handling, shipment scheduling, expediting orders, and supporting production through efficient warehouse management. The ideal candidate has experience in inventory management, ERP systems, warehouse coordination, expediting, and manufacturing environments, with strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to operational excellence. Key ResponsibilitiesWarehouse Operations & Shipping/Receiving Oversee all daily warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, storage, and distribution of materials, supplies, and equipment. Coordinate closely with production, purchasing, logistics, and supply chain teams to ensure timely material flow. Supervise receipt, inspection, storage, and distribution of inventory. Assign and manage work orders for kitting and ensure on-time completion. Develop and maintain organized storage systems to maximize warehouse space and efficiency. Conduct regular inventory audits, cycle counts, and physical inventory reconciliationEnsure accurate material transactions in ERP or inventory management systems. Manage non-conforming materials, damaged goods, obsolete stock, and returns. Operate forklift and other material handling equipment as needed (forklift certification preferred). Schedule and coordinate shipments using approved freight carriers and transportation providers. Inventory Management & ExpeditingMaintain accurate real-time inventory levels to support manufacturing and production schedules. Utilize inventory management software, ERP systems, MRP, and Kanban processes to track stock and reordering needs. Perform routine inventory audits and initiate purchase requisitions when stock levels fall below minimum thresholds. Expedite purchase orders and track supplier deliveries to prevent production delays. Collaborate with suppliers and logistics providers to resolve shipment issues. Identify supply chain bottlenecks and implement corrective actions. Generate reports on inventory levels, order status, and performance metrics. Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse efficiency. Leadership & SupervisionSupervise 1-2 warehouse employees, including temporary staff. Provide training on warehouse procedures, safety standards, documentation, and inventory control processes. Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations. Promote a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement. Required QualificationsHigh school diploma required; Associate degree or coursework in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Operations preferred. Experience in:Warehouse management Inventory control Shipping & receiving Expediting or supply chain coordination Experience in manufacturing, electronics, industrial, or contract manufacturing environments highly preferred. Proficiency in ERP systems, inventory management software, MRP, and Kanban systemsStrong organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Forklift experience preferred. Preferred QualificationsExperience with quality management systems such as: Kaizen ISO-9000 AS9100 Six Sigma Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles. Experience supporting production scheduling and materials planning.
