At Light & Wonder, it’s all about the games, and our Gaming team builds cutting-edge technology, products, and content for the most iconic casinos and operators across the globe.Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Lead Embedded Electronics Engineer to lead the design, development, and validation of complex embedded electrical systems for innovative electronic products. This role is responsible for architecture and circuit design, power regulation systems, digital communication interfaces, and regulatory-compliant system development, driving programs from concept through New Product Introduction (NPI) and into sustained production.The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, analytical capability, and demonstrated leadership in taking products from concept through production release. This position also serves as a mentor to junior engineers and a subject matter expert across cross-functional teams.Design & DevelopmentLead the design, modeling, and simulation of embedded electrical systemsDevelop low- to high-density circuit cards and power/signal conversion systemsArchitect embedded system platforms including power regulation and digital communication subsystemsEnsure designs meet performance, reliability, manufacturability, and regulatory compliance requirementsTechnical LeadershipDirect technical design reviews and define electrical system requirementsOwn electrical architecture decisions from concept through productionDrive technology alignment with product roadmaps and business objectivesProvide technical oversight during prototype builds, compliance testing, and production rampInterface with suppliers for vendor qualification and product launch supportProvide ongoing sustainment support for fielded hardware productsAnalysis, Compliance & SimulationPerform advanced electrical analysis using industry-standard simulation toolsValidate signal integrity, power integrity, EMI/EMC performance, and overall system robustnessEnsure compliance with applicable safety standards and EMC requirements (FCC, CE, IEC)Support pre-compliance and formal certification testing, including documentation and remediationProblem Solving & ValidationLead failure analysis and root cause investigationsTroubleshoot complex system-level issues in lab and field environmentsDiagnose EMI, ESD, grounding, and safety-related issuesImplement corrective actions and drive continuous product improvementMentorship & CollaborationMentor and guide junior engineers in best practices and design methodologyCollaborate with mechanical, firmware, manufacturing, compliance, and quality teamsServe as a subject matter expert for stakeholders across the organizationEducationBachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related fieldExperience10+ years of experience in electrical system design, development, or testingDemonstrated experience taking products from concept through NPI and production releaseExperience supporting regulatory certification and compliance testingQualificationsTechnical ExpertiseDeep knowledge of embedded system architectureStrong experience in high-speed digital design, power regulation/conversion, and high-density PCB layoutProficiency with schematic capture and PCB CAD tools (e.g., Altium Designer or equivalent)Experience with simulation and analysis tools (e.g., HFSS, ADS, or similar)Expertise in digital communication interfaces including RS-232, RS-485, Ethernet, and USBRegulatory & Compliance KnowledgeWorking knowledge of applicable safety and EMC standards (IEC, FCC Part 15, CE)Experience designing for EMI mitigation, grounding, shielding, filtering, and surge protectionPreferred QualificationsExperience in regulated or high-reliability industries (medical, industrial, telecom, consumer electronics, etc.)Experience leading compliance testing and working with third-party certification bodiesBackground in system-level power distribution and protection designExperience mentoring engineering teamsFamiliarity with manufacturing validation processes and production supportKey CompetenciesStrong analytical and systems-level thinkingTechnical leadership and architectural ownershipDeep understanding of compliance-driven designExcellent problem-solving skillsClear cross-functional communicationOwnership mindset with the ability to drive projects to completionPhysical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
