The position is a hybrid of in-person and remote working. As an associate on our team, in addition to supporting senior lawyers by conducting detailed research and memo writing on novel issues, you will handle tort litigation from start to finish, develop legal strategy and collaborate with claim professionals and Arbella insureds. Having some experience reviewing insurance contracts is also a plus.As a member of our legal team you will:Represent Arbella insureds in the defense of bodily injury and property damage lawsuitsInterview clients and witnessesPrepare for and conduct depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trialsPrepare and argue motions in courts throughout MassachusettsProvide advice and assistance to colleagues in Arbella's Claim Department and other business unitsNegotiate settlementsProvide support to Senior Counsel on cases and projectsMonitor and stay abreast of caselawConduct legal research and draft memorandaQualifications:A JD degree, ability to work with attorneys to develop strategies on a case.Must be admitted to practice law in Massachusetts3-6 years of insurance defense litigation experienceExcellent legal research and writing skillsExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsStrong critical thinking skillsAdaptability and attention to detailAdmittance to the Bars in CT, NH and/or RI a plusOur current reasonable and good faith estimate of the annual salary range for this position is approximately $96,000 - $130,000 based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills and experience, educational background and certifications, performance and qualifications, market demand for the role and other organizational needs.
