Material Supervisor

Overview In this role you oversee the flow of materials within the Grand Prairie plant to support production. You lead warehouse and material handling teams, safeguard inventory accuracy, and drive improvements for safety, quality, delivery, and cost. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve material issues and optimize processes. This is a hands-on leadership position with a focus on reliable material supply and continuous improvement. ResponsibilitiesSupervise material handling, warehousing, receiving, shipping, and inventory control activitiesEnsure production lines are supplied to meet schedules and customer requirementsMonitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment to prevent shortages and excessDevelop and coach material handlers, warehouse staff, and logistics personnelMaintain accurate inventory through cycle counts, physical inventories, and system entriesCollaborate with Production, Purchasing, Planning, Quality, and Logistics to resolve material issuesTrack KPIs such as inventory accuracy, line shortages, shipping performance, and productivityEnsure safety, policy, and regulatory complianceInvestigate material discrepancies, variances, and shipping/receiving issuesSupport continuous improvement for efficiency, waste reduction, inventory optimization, and standardizationCoordinate movement and storage of seat components, raw materials, WIP, and finished goodsEnsure proper handling to prevent damage and maintain product qualityParticipate in production meetings and operational planning Key requirementsBachelor’s Degree in a related fieldPrior automotive and/or manufacturing experiencePrior experience leading a team in a manufacturing environmentKnowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and distribution of goodsKnowledge of business and management principles for strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership, and production methodsAbility to evaluate and implement resolution plans for unexpected issuesStrong communication across all organizational levelsOrganizational skills and ability to prioritize fluctuating needsAbility to set expectations and hold team accountableAbility to anticipate daily/future conditions to minimize disruptionsclear communicationleadershipproblem-solvinginventory managementcycle countssystem transactions/ERP-like processes
