Diving Superintendent

Crofton is seeking a Diving Superintendent to join our team.The ideal Diving Superintendent will be physically and medically fit for the job, situationally aware and able to work safely in a multiple work operation environment.Supervisory Responsibilities:Oversees dive crewDuties/ Responsibilities:Carry out non-destructive testing and accurately report resultsCheck and maintain diving equipment such as helmets, Diver EGS, harnesses, umbilicals, etc.Inspect and test docks, ships, buoyage systems, plant intakes and outflows, and underwater pipelines, cables, and sewers, using closed circuit television, still photography, and testing equipmentRecover objects by placing rigging around sunken objects, hooking/rigging to crane lines, and operating winches or derricks to raise objectsOperate underwater video, recording, and related equipment to investigate underwater structuresPerform activities related to underwater search and rescue, salvage, recovery, and cleanup operationsRepair ships, bridge foundations, and other structures below the water lineSalvage wrecked ships and/or their cargo, using pneumatic and hydraulic toolsSet or guide placement of pilings and sandbags to provide support for structures such as docks, bridges, cofferdams, and platformsTake appropriate safety precautions, such as monitoring dive lengths and depths, and registering with authorities before diving expeditions beginObtain information about diving tasks and environmental conditionsAbility to accurately read a tape measure, precision scales, and calipersAbility to comprehend blueprints and develop job specificationsRequired Skills/Abilities:ADCI/ACDE Entry Level Diver/Tender or Commercial Diver certificationCurrent Association of Diving Contractors International (ADCI) Dive PhysicalCurrent Diving Oxygen Provider and CPR/First Aid/AED CertificationAbility to successfully complete any specific safety or job training that may be requiredEducation and Experience:Must have a High School diploma or equivalentSuccessfully completed education at ADCI accredited and/or military dive schoolPhysical Requirements:Frequently lift, push, pull, reach and/or move up to 75 poundsRegularly required to sit, stand, walk, climb, kneel, and squatMust be able to work in zero visibilityHand-eye coordination, quick reaction time, control precision, depth perception and manual dexterityMust be situationally aware, able to safely work in a multiple work operation environmentMust be able to work outdoors under all weather conditionsMust be able to work at depths of 100 feet below and/or heights up to 100 feet-No Fear of HeightsMust be physically and medically qualified to wear required personal protective equipmentMust be able to read, write, hear, interact and communicate with all types of personnel
