Database Engineer

Overview In this role you will provide ongoing DB2 UDB support for the CCTI/CCP data warehouse, ensure data replication to the DR site, and assist with performance testing of CAE and CCP applications. You will troubleshoot performance issues and implement fixes, collaborating in a project-driven environment serving government clients. ResponsibilitiesProvide day-to-day DB2 UDB support for the CCTI/CCP data warehouse environmentSupport data replication between production site and disaster recovery siteAssist with performance testing of the CAE and CCP applicationsTroubleshoot system and application performance issues and recommend fixesOther duties as assigned Key requirements3–5 years of hands-on DB2 UDB experience in an AIX environmentStrong Unix skills (command line, scripting)Ability to work under project manager supervision and independently with minimal supervisionWillingness to work off-hours and weekends when necessaryExperience with WebSphere Application Server, HTTP Server, MQSeries and Cognos from a database perspectiveExperience with Q-ReplicationExperience with performance monitoring/testing Cognos and SQL performance optimizationMS Office experience (Outlook, Word, Excel)Experience with DPF (Data Partitioning Facility) and HADR setupSelf-starter with high initiativeSense of urgencyOpen to feedbackDB2 LUW on AIXUnix scriptingWebSphere Application Server
