Generator Field Service Technician

We provide individuals the opportunity to work in a fast-paced agile work environment where their work makes a difference in people’s lives and their own.The Generator Field Service Technician is responsible for providing on-site troubleshooting, repair, warranty/campaign service, preventative maintenance, and equipment modifications of Generac industrial products. This position works at various customer sites; fleet vehicle provided. We are a 24/7/365 service provider; during mass storms and outages management may require additional help with after-hours calls beyond the standing on-call schedule.What’s the job?Generator Field Service TechnicianGain proficiency in use of tools and standard procedures relating to diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and performing maintenance on generators.Perform scheduled inspections on equipment to prevent future failure, including but not limited to load banking and analyzing voltage requirements.Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and perform maintenance on equipment according to standard procedures in an efficient manner.Train and educate customers on the use of equipment and value of products and services provided.Follow established expectations for communicating with Dispatch throughout the day regarding updates and next assignments.Maintain company vehicle and associated inventory in the vehicle.Maintain accurate records of all services performed, mileage, expenses, and bill-able hours.Adhere to all safety requirements and regulations.Minimum QualificationsTechnical Field Service Representative Level I:High School Diploma or EquivalentMechanical / Electrical aptitudeMaintain a valid Driver’s License1+ Year of Customer Service experience1+ Year of experience in electrical and mechanical repair, installation, maintenance, and troubleshootingExperience utilizing Generac, Cummins, Onan, Kohler, and/or CAT generators is preferredTechnical Field Service Representative Level IIHigh School Diploma or EquivalentMechanical / Electrical aptitudeMaintain a valid Driver’s License1+ Year of Customer Service experience2+ Year of experience in electrical and mechanical repair, installation, maintenance, and troubleshootingExperience utilizing Generac, Cummins, Onan, Kohler, and/or CAT generators is preferredTechnical Field Service Representative Level IIIHigh School Diploma or EquivalentMechanical / Electrical aptitudeMaintain a valid Driver’s License1+ Year of Customer Service experience3+ Year of experience in electrical and mechanical repair, installation, maintenance, and troubleshootingExperience utilizing Generac, Cummins, Onan, Kohler, and/or CAT generators is preferredMaster Field Service TechnicianHigh School Diploma or EquivalentMechanical / Electrical aptitudeMaintain a valid Driver’s License1+ Year of Customer Service experience5+ Experience in repairs, installation, maintenance and troubleshooting Generac, Cummins, Onan, Kohler, and/or CAT generatorsGenerac Master Certification or equivalentCompensationWolverine Power Systems is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. This compensation will ultimately be in line with the location in which the position is filled. Final compensation for this role will be determined by various factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, skills, certifications and geographic location.
