Patient Access Rep - W/C

Wound Care Clinic ReceptionistPerforms receptionist, registration, and clerical duties associated with direct and scheduled patient appointments. Reports to: Director of Wound Care. Organizes and sets up appointments for wound care patients. Ensures that all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered in the registration system with timeliness and accuracy. Scans documents into patient charts. Meets with patient or patient's caregiver before or after admission to exchange necessary information and documentation. Provides explanation of process and addresses concerns and questions.Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent - Required. Two years of college or medical office specialist education - Preferred.Required Skills: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Must be able to function appropriately in a multi-task setting. General understanding of medical terminology and medical insurance.Minimum Work Experience: 2 years experience in hospital patient access/registration or medical office with emphasis on medical insurance. - Required.
