This role is ideal for a tax professional with strong experience in partnership taxation, flow-through entities, and private equity and venture capital structures. The Senior Associate will work closely with fund clients, providing high-value tax compliance and consulting services across a diverse portfolio of asset managers, venture capital firms, and private equity funds.ResponsibilitiesPrepare and review complex partnership tax returns, including tiered structures and multi-state filingsLead preparation of Schedule K-1s and ensure accurate reporting for fund investorsReview tax returns prepared by Staff and provide detailed feedback and mentorshipPrepare and review income tax projections, quarterly estimates, and tax planning strategies for fund clientsConduct technical tax research and draft memoranda on issues related to Section 704(b), 754 elections, carried interest, and fund structuringAnalyze book-to-tax differences and prepare supporting workpapers for fund entitiesIdentify and resolve tax issues related to capital contributions, distributions, and waterfall allocationsBuild strong relationships with clients, serving as a trusted advisor on fund-related tax mattersCommunicate professionally with federal and state tax authorities regarding notices and inquiriesParticipate in training and development programs, both as a learner and a facilitatorQualificationsCPA or CPA eligibility required4+ years of relevant tax experience, ideally in public accountingStrong technical knowledge of partnership taxation, flow-through entities, and fund structuresExperience with venture capital, private equity, or asset management is highly preferredProficiency in tax software (e.g., GoSystems, CCH Axcess) and ExcelExcellent communication, project management, and client service skillsBennett Thrasher is an Equal Opportunity Employer encouraging diversity in the workplace.
