### DescriptionPosition Summary: Employment Specialist provides employment and career counseling, job preparation, job development, job referral and retention to Nassau Employment Initiative (NEI) participants.Responsibilities:Conduct individualized assessments and provides vocational counselingSource job opportunities in Nassau and Suffolk CountiesEstablish relationships with staffing and temp agenciesGoing out in the community to connect with local organizations for client referrals and connecting with local businesses for job placements.Create resumes and cover letters for clientsTable at events, conduct vocational workshops, and presentationsProvide one-on-one career counseling and job preparation for programProvide post employment services to clientsWork closely with Senior Vocational Case Manager in the recruitment of clients, collecting data, and helping to meet the program goalsAttend community events to conduct outreach and engagement Qualifications:Associate's degree but Bachelor's Degree Preferred.Three years of relevant experience (experience working with HIV population is a plus)Bilingual Spanish Strongly PreferredThis role would also require having a vehicle for 25%-50% of traveling, for outreach and to meet clients in the community throughout Nassau and Suffolk CountyValid driver's license and reliable transportation required (Must have a valid drivers license and access to a car for work purposes. )Salary: $51,000/yearSchedule: This role has a hybrid schedule of field work and office work, with flexibility for one remote day after a successful training period.Program Overview: The Nassau Employment Initiative (NEI), funded by the NY State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance, is designed to provide outreach, case management, job preparation and job placement along with wrap-around services to individuals with HIV/AIDS in Nassau and Suffolk Counties. The program also provides post-placement supports and off site referrals to meet the needs of our participants.NADAP, Inc. is a multiservice non-profit agency dedicated to helping people with medical, behavioral health and social service needs to become sufficient.
