Apparel Merchandiser
About the RoleOur brand, Thread & Supply, is looking for a highly analytical and product-minded Merchandiser / Allocator / Line Planner to own the intersection of product, inventory, and sales performance. This role is responsible for building and managing assortments, driving SKU-level performance, and ensuring the right product is in the right place at the right time.You will work closely with design, production, sales, and operations to plan, execute, and optimize each season—balancing creativity with commercial performance.Key ResponsibilitiesMerchandising & Line PlanningBuild seasonal assortment plans across categories (core vs seasonal vs trend)Define SKU counts, depth, and pricing architectureIdentify and develop “hero styles” based on sales data and market demandPartner with design and production to ensure product aligns with business needsAllocation & Inventory ManagementOwn inventory allocation across wholesale, e-commerce, and key accountsMonitor sell-through, stock levels, and WIP to make real-time allocation decisionsIdentify risks (overstock / stockouts) and proactively adjustManage size scales and depth by stylePerformance AnalysisTrack SKU velocity (weekly / rolling 8-week)Analyze sell-through, margins, and inventory turnsIdentify missed opportunities (lost sales due to stockouts)Provide actionable insights to leadership and cross-functional teamsCross-Functional ExecutionPartner with sales to support key accounts and identify growth opportunitiesWork with production on buy quantities and reorder decisionsAlign with marketing on product focus and storytellingMaintain and manage reporting in AIMS360 / Airtable (or similar systems)Qualifications3–6+ years experience in merchandising, planning, or allocation (apparel preferred)Strong analytical mindset with a deep understanding of retail mathExperience working with ERP systems (AIMS360 a plus) and tools like Excel / AirtableStrong product intuition—understands what sells and whyAbility to balance data with brand and aestheticHighly organized with strong attention to detailComfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
