Quality Technician
Job Description:
The Quality Technician is responsible for but not limited to: ensuring all parts supplied to the customer meet all customer specifications. Ensuring parts received from third party vendors meet customer, RGC and industry specifications. Parts meet acceptance criteria thru NDT specifications, ensuring all processes and procedures are being followed in the manufacturing process. Calibration.

Responsibilities/daily tasks:
Experience in reading blue prints and have a working knowledge of customer specifications and industry standards.
Experience with measuring instruments such as: ID/OD micrometers, calipers, snap gages, bore gages, CMM’s both manual and CNC, Hofler gear inspection machine, dial indicators and tooth veneers and CMM PC DMIS/Modus programming skill.
Perform regular quality assessments on all incoming materials from vendors and outgoing products for shipping.
Reject all products and materials that fail to meet quality expectations.
Measure product dimensions examine functionality and compare the final product to the specifications.
Must have calibration experience.
Teach the production team about quality control concerns to improve product excellence.
Resolve quality-related issues in a timely manner.
Understand and apply control plan requirements.
Collect, format information, analyze recorded charts, and provide summary analysis to appropriate managers
Organize quality documents and customer files
Assist employees in proper measurement methods
Perform process capability studies and PPAP/ISIR related activities
Assist employees and supervisors to fill-in quality forms
Develop databases for various quality projects
Make recommendations for long-range quality system or process improvements
Perform first piece, in-process and final inspections as requested
Participate in vendor certification to eliminate incoming inspection when applicable
First Part Process
Act as an auditor for internal quality audits
Coordinate Quality System Paperwork
Write Supplier correspondences when applicable
Qualifications:
Experience preferred: 2-4 years manufacturing
Basic math skills with a knowledge of basic geometry
2-4 years’ quality assurance
Working knowledge with Microsoft office i.e. word, excel, and outlook
Experience with manufacturing of bevel gears.
