This role will partner closely with the Design Director and cross-functional teams to create innovative knitwear that reflects the brand’s heritage-inspired, modern New York aesthetic.The Designer / Sr. Designer will drive seasonal concept development, yarn and stitch innovation, and technical execution across the sweater assortment while ensuring alignment with overall seasonal direction, merchandising strategy, and brand DNA.Responsibilities:Research & InspirationLead seasonal research focused on knitwear innovation, vintage inspiration, yarn development, and stitch techniquesIdentify opportunities for new knit constructions, textures, and silhouettes aligned with brand directionTranslate inspiration into compelling seasonal sweater concepts that support the overall collectionDesign OwnershipOwn the Men’s Sweater category, including pullovers, cardigans, novelty knits, and seasonal knitwear programsCreate original sketches, stitch layouts, and yarn/material proposalsDevelop thoughtful color stories and knit structures that align with seasonal palettes and brand aestheticDevelopmentCreate detailed tech packs and design sheets for knitwear developmentPartner with Product Development and Technical Design to ensure clarity on stitch patterns, gauge, yarn specifications, and constructionOversee knitwear trim and detail development including rib structures, plackets, and finishing techniquesFittings & Product ExecutionAttend weekly fittings from prototype through production to ensure fit, proportion, and knit construction integrityProvide feedback on yarn performance, stitch execution, and finishing detailsPresentationPresent sweater concepts at sketch, prototype, and SMS stagesClearly articulate design ideas and knitwear innovation to internal teams, Creative Director, and cross-functional partnersOrganizationMaintain and update seasonal knitwear boards and concept development toolsTrack sweater development progress across the calendar and key milestonesCollaborationWork closely with Merchandising, Product Development, and Technical Design to ensure product alignment with assortment strategiesPartner with teams to deliver commercially relevant and technically strong knitwearTeam ContributionSupport seasonal design reviews, proto reviews, and market preparationContribute to the overall creative development of the men’s collectionRequirements (Skills, Qualifications, Education)Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related field experience5–8+ years’ experience in knitwear design preferredStrong technical knowledge of sweater construction, yarns, gauges, and stitch developmentDeep understanding of knitwear fabrication, yarn sourcing, and garment finishing techniquesStrong aesthetic sensibility aligned with modern American menswearExcellent organization and ability to manage multiple seasonal deadlinesProficiency in Adobe Illustrator and PhotoshopExperience with PLM systems and tools such as Miro a plusRules we live by | Rules you live byBe a Good Human - Be original, be authentic.
