About The RoleJob DescriptionThe Heathrow Shared Apprenticeship Scheme is one of the UK's most exciting apprenticeship programmes. The scheme provides career changing opportunities for residents close to the airport.Quantity Surveyors operate specialised equipment, ensure data accuracy, and perform cost assessments. Surveyors also process information, review tenders, and collaborate with other construction professionals. Strong technical skills and attention to detail are crucial for success in this role. Duties typically include:Take accurate financial information related to construction projects.Producing take-offs for building plans.Communicate with clients and colleagues to exchange financial construction-related information.Understand and ensure Legal and regulatory compliance is followed.Administrate and analyse contracts, timesheets, tenders, pre-qualifying questionnaires, and price lists.Perform cost assessments, measurements, or valuations using research-derived data.Prioritise safety for oneself and others in the work environment.The apprenticeship will develop the technical, interpersonal, and behavioural skills, knowledge and competence outcomes that are required for surveying technicians to work effectively within a range of working environments.Typical Work Week40 hours p/w with start time typically between 07:00 & 08:00 inclusive of paid 8 hours at college.Person SpecificationA 'can do' attitude - willing to get stuck in, take accountability for decisions and actions and who takes pride in their workA love of variety in a role and ability to adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced working environmentAbility to quickly prioritise tasks and the initiative to dive head-first into problem solvingNo two days are the same on the front line and not every day goes to plan, so you'll need to be quick on your feet to respond!Excellent communication and collaboration skills and enjoy working with multiple teamsAbility to analyse and interpret information and effectively communicate this to different team members and audiencesAbility to travel freely across our patch to visit different sites and travel to training daysCuriosity to learn quickly in a reactive and dynamic working environment.Ability to work in all weather conditions to serve our customers and protect the environmentAble to understand and follow health and safety protocolsQualifications required/desirableMinimum RequirementsEnglish and Maths at GCSE Grade 3 or above, or Functional Skills at Level 1 or above.Desired RequirementsTo have the passion and commitment in joining an apprenticeship that provides a direct path to gain hands-on experience, specialised skills, and strong earning potential in a high-demand field, setting you on the road to a rewarding and financially stable career.Key Training/College InformationK10 will enrol you to the Level 4 Construction Quantity Surveying Technician course and fund your qualifications through an accredited training provider.The apprenticeship duration is 36 months.EligibilityTo start this apprenticeship, you'll need to be:living in England for the last 3 years and have right to work statusnot enrolled on any other courses18+ due to site H&S rulesTo be eligible for the Heathrow Shared Apprenticeship Scheme, you must reside in one of the following regions:HillingdonHounslowEalingSpelthorneWindsor & MaidenheadSouth BuckinghamshireElmbridgeSloughRunnymedeWho We AreWe are UK's largest construction-specific Flexi-Job Apprenticeship Agency.
