VP of Credit | CRE Private Credit Platform | Equity + Carry
LHH (Atlanta) is excited to partner with a fast-growing commercial real estate finance platform that is looking to hire a VP of Credit to lead and scale its credit function. This is a high-impact opportunity with a company providing flexible capital solutions to experienced real estate sponsors across low-leverage, cash-flowing CRE assets. The platform provides capital through preferred equity, mezzanine debt, and structured credit solutions.This is also a highly forward-looking role for a credit leader who wants to help build a more modern credit function, where strong credit judgment is translated into scalable systems, better tooling, and AI-enabled processes that make underwriting, monitoring, and decision-making faster and more effective.Responsibilities:Lead the credit and underwriting function across a growing portfolio of CRE credit investmentsEvaluate new investment opportunities, including preferred equity, mezzanine debt, and other structured capital solutionsReview sponsor quality, asset performance, cash flow, leverage, market dynamics, collateral, and exit strategyBuild and refine underwriting standards, credit policies, approval workflows, and risk-rating frameworksPrepare and present investment committee materials, credit memos, and transaction recommendationsPartner closely with originations, executive leadership, legal, servicing, operations, and capital marketsHelp structure transactions, including pricing, covenants, reporting requirements, reserves, and downside protectionOversee portfolio monitoring, borrower reporting, watchlist management, covenant compliance, and early risk identificationHelp institutionalize the credit function as the company continues to scaleServe as a senior credit leader in a lean, entrepreneurial environment with meaningful influence on strategy, process, and growthQualifications:8+ years of experience in commercial real estate credit, real estate lending, private credit, structured finance, or related investment rolesStrong experience underwriting income-producing commercial real estate assetsExperience with multifamily, bridge lending, mezzanine debt, preferred equity, private credit, or structured CRE finance preferredStrong understanding of DSCR, LTV/CLTV, cap rates, NOI, sponsor analysis, debt structures, exit risk, and downside protectionAbility to evaluate both asset-level risk and borrower/sponsor qualityExperience preparing credit memos, investment committee materials, and portfolio monitoring reportsStrong judgment, attention to detail, and ability to make thoughtful credit decisions in a fast-moving environmentComfort operating in a growing company where the right person can help build, improve, and scale the credit functionStrong communication skills and the ability to work closely with founders, executives, investors, and cross-functional teamsCompensation/Benefits:Competitive base salary, plus 0.5% equity and fund carry sized to experience.Comprehensive benefits packagePosition offers significant work-from-home flexibility.
