The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estimating construction projects, particularly with a focus on public bids. The Estimator will play a crucial role in our pre-construction process, ensuring accurate and competitive bids that align with client requirements and project specifications.Responsibilities:Prepare Estimates: Analyze project plans and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor bids.Bid Management: Manage the bid process from start to finish, including soliciting subcontractor bids, reviewing proposals, and preparing bid packages for submission.Cost Analysis: Conduct thorough cost analysis to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and ensure competitive pricing.Risk Assessment: Evaluate project risks and opportunities, providing recommendations to mitigate risks and enhance project profitability.Documentation: Maintain detailed records of estimates, bids, and project documents in accordance with company policies and industry regulations.Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to clarify project requirements and develop comprehensive bids that meet client expectations.Public Bid Experience: Demonstrated experience with public bid projects, including familiarity with government regulations, bidding processes, and compliance requirements.Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred) OR equivalent combination of education and experience.Minimum of 8 years of experience as an Estimator in the construction industry, with a proven track record of successfully bidding on and winning public projects.Proficiency in estimating software, including Bluebeam, and MS Office Suite.Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex project requirements and technical documents.Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.Detail-oriented and organized, with a commitment to accuracy and quality in all work.Benefits:Competitive salary commensurate with experience.Opportunities for career growth and professional development in a dynamic work environment.Application Process: To apply, please submit your resume and cover letter outlining your relevant experience and why you are a great fit for this position.
