This role serves as a critical control point within the project lifecycle, ensuring openings, hardware, specifications, submittals, and scope presentations align with contract requirements, code compliance, operational execution, and overall project risk management expectations. This individual operates as the final technical review point before scope is formally presented to the customer, general contractor, or project team. The role requires strong specification interpretation, contract awareness, Comsense processing capabilities, and the ability to identify execution, compliance, coordination, and scope-related risks prior to release. The Federal Programs Detailer works closely with Project Management, Estimating, Operations, and Sales to support successful federal project execution while maintaining alignment with company standards, contract requirements, and customer expectations.Essential FunctionsReview contract documents, specifications, estimates, addenda, RFIs, approved substitutions, and project requirements to ensure complete technical alignment prior to detailing and release. Prepare accurate and code-compliant door, frame, hardware, and specialty schedules in accordance with project specifications, federal contract requirements, and customer expectations. Process project changes, revisions, change orders, and scope modifications within Comsense while coordinating all cost and pricing impacts with the assigned Project Manager. Maintain detailed and accurate Comsense project records throughout the project lifecycle to support execution, procurement, revisions, and closeout activities. Serve as the final technical review point for scope presentation prior to submission to customers, contractors, or internal release for ordering. Identify, assess, and communicate project risks related to specifications, scope gaps, code compliance, material lead times, substitutions, coordination conflicts, execution limitations, or contract requirements. Coordinate closely with Project Management regarding pricing impacts, scope clarifications, exclusions, change management, and customer-facing project communication. Prepare and manage submittals, shop drawings, schedules, elevations, sections, and supporting documentation utilizing Comsense and company-approved software platforms. Review project scope for compliance with applicable codes and standards including UL, NFPA, IBC, ADA, UFC, Buy America/BAA requirements, and other federal or project-specific requirements. Coordinate technical clarifications and discrepancies with architects, general contractors, manufacturers, internal operations teams, and project stakeholders. Support project execution through ongoing schedule revisions, resubmittals, technical issue resolution, and coordination with procurement and operations teams. Assist in maintaining standardized detailing, documentation, and workflow processes that support scalable Federal Programs execution. Collaborate across Sales, Estimating, Project Management, Operations, and Federal Programs leadership to ensure continuity from project capture through execution. Minimum Qualifications3–7 years of experience in commercial door, frame, and hardware detailing, project coordination, or technical project execution required. Experience supporting federal, government, healthcare, higher education, mission critical, or highly specified commercial construction projects strongly preferred. Strong experience with Comsense Enterprise or Advantage required, including schedule revisions, change processing, and project execution coordination. Demonstrated experience interpreting specifications, contract documents, RFIs, submittals, and construction drawings. Understanding of applicable industry standards and codes including UL, NFPA, IBC, ADA, and life safety requirements. Experience coordinating directly with Project Managers regarding change management, scope clarification, and execution risk preferred. Knowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesAdvanced blueprint, specification, and contract document interpretation skills. Strong understanding of commercial door, frame, hardware, and specialty product applications. Ability to identify technical, operational, and execution risks prior to project release. Strong understanding of change management workflows and project coordination within Comsense. Ability to manage multiple revisions, deadlines, and complex project coordination efforts simultaneously. Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to collaborate across operational, sales, estimating, and project management teams. Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment regarding scope interpretation, risk assessment, and execution readiness.
