Registered Nurse (RN) | Med/Surg / Telemetry Location: Kankakee, IL Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,092 per week Shift Information: Nights - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 5/25/2026 About the Position TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg / Tele RN in Kankakee, Illinois, 60901! Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Must have active state license in hand Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - EPIC experience - Preferred travel experience - Local placements accepted (must live within specified distance) Description: Drivers license required for consideration. Unit has 31 beds with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5-6. Common diagnoses include CHF, strokes, chest pain, diabetes, pneumonia, COPD, detox, and underlying cardiac conditions. Experience with radial and femoral cath recoveries is required. RNs are not required to titrate drips. Common drips include Lasix, heparin, bumex, protonix, and octreotide. Registered Nurses read telemetry. There is a centralized telemetry tech that helps monitor. A charge nurse/team lead does not take patients during the day and takes patients during nights/weekends/holidays. There are nurse aides on the unit with ratios of 1:10-12. Cpap/Bipap is used intermittently on the unit. Schedule consists of 12-hour shifts with flexible staffing. Weekend requirements are every other weekend. Holiday requirements are every other holiday. There is no call or standby requirement. Floating is required to medical floors/step down for telemetry level patients. Scrub color is Caribbean.
