We aim to develop students’ problem-solving ability, engineering thinking, and long-term intellectual growth through hands-on and structured learning experiences. Position Overview We are seeking a *Robotics / Mechanical Engineering Intern* who is passionate about hands-on engineering, STEM education, and building real-world systems. This is not a typical internship — you will work directly with our team *in person in Tenafly, NJ *to support robotics programs, improve curriculum delivery, and create engaging, project-based learning experiences for students. You will gain practical experience at the intersection of *engineering + education + product development*. Key Responsibilities Robotics Program Support * Assist instructors in delivering robotics classes, workshops, and STEM camps * Guide students through hands-on projects (e.g., building, debugging, testing) * Help maintain a structured, engaging, and safe classroom environment Hardware & System Setup * Support setup, calibration, and troubleshooting of robotics kits and equipment * Assist in basic mechanical assembly and system integration * Identify and fix common technical issues during classes Curriculum & Project Development * Help improve and refine robotics curriculum and project design * Test new project ideas to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes * Contribute to developing structured, scalable STEM learning modules Student Experience * Provide 1:1 or small-group guidance to students * Encourage problem-solving, creativity, and independent thinking * Support students with different skill levels and learning speeds Qualifications * Undergraduate or graduate degree in *Robotics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields* * Strong hands-on skills and problem-solving mindset * Comfortable working with hardware, tools, and basic engineering systems * Patient, responsible, and interested in working with students Preferred (not required): * Experiences with Vex IQ and/or First Robotics competitions (strongly preferred) * Experience with robotics platforms (LEGO, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, etc.) * Basic programming skills (Python, C++, etc.) * Prior teaching, tutoring, or mentoring experience * Interest in education, cognitive development, or STEM curriculum design What You Will Gain * Real-world experience applying engineering in an educational setting * Hands-on exposure to robotics systems, hardware troubleshooting, and project design * Opportunity to work directly with founders and contribute to program development * Strong resume experience for * Engineering roles * Robotics / AI startups * Graduate school applications * Potential for long-term role or program leadership Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week Benefits: * Flexible schedule Work Location: In person
