Job Title: Shipping and Receiving SpecialistJob Description The Shipping and Receiving Specialist accurately processes, ships, and receives products while maintaining organized inventory and a clean, safe warehouse. This role operates forklifts and other material-handling equipment, works closely with warehouse staff to fulfill customer orders, and ensures all transactions are correctly recorded in the Warehouse Management System.Responsibilities Ship units to customers by managing and organizing distribution center transfers and stock orders.Organize all printed orders from the sales department that require shipping to ensure timely processing.Double-check all orders before shipment to ensure accuracy and completeness.Load and unload trucks using a forklift and by hand as needed.Process all orders accurately in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).Communicate any backorders or inventory issues promptly to the warehouse lead or supervisor.Perform daily cycle counts on components and record results in the inventory management system.Enter daily inventory data to keep records accurate and up to date.Tag purchased units clearly and correctly for proper identification and tracking.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse space at all times.Work with warehouse staff to pull, pick, pack, and ship or deliver orders to customers in an efficient and accurate manner.Assist with general warehouse duties, including stocking shelves, kitting parts or components, and supporting overall warehouse cleanliness.Use pallet jacks and small electric hoists to move and position materials as needed.Access outside storage areas daily and assist with loading, unloading, or other tasks outdoors when required, including during inclement weather.Perform other warehouse and shipping tasks as directed to support smooth operations.Essential Skills At least 2 years of warehouse experience.Minimum of 1 year of forklift operating experience.Minimum of 1 year of experience using a Warehouse Management System (WMS).At least 1 year of basic computer skills, including use of shipping software and Microsoft Office.Experience with shipping and receiving processes.Hands-on experience with inventory and inventory control activities.Ability to use RF scanners for warehouse inventory tasks.Ability to safely operate a sit-down forklift.Ability to work both independently and as part of a warehouse team.Strong attention to detail to ensure order accuracy and proper documentation.Ability to perform physical warehouse tasks, including loading and unloading materials.Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with warehouse inventory management is a plus.Comfort using pallet jacks and small electric hoists.Willingness to work mostly indoors but also outside when needed, including during inclement weather.Ability to adapt to different equipment as new material-handling options are introduced.Strong organizational skills to maintain orderly storage areas and accurate records.Reliability and punctuality to support consistent warehouse operations.Why Work Here?You will join a stable operation with a strong track record of job security and no layoffs. The facility is not climate controlled, so temperatures will vary with the seasons. Most duties take place indoors, but you will regularly access outside storage areas and occasionally work in the elements, including during inclement weather, to load, unload, or move materials. The position primarily uses a sit-down forklift, along with pallet jacks, small electric hoists, RF scanners, and standard warehouse equipment. Typical hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed, which may involve starting an hour early or staying an hour late. The work setting emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and teamwork in a fast-paced warehouse and production environment.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Algona, IA.Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $18.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
