Since 1982, we have built a reputation for delivering high-quality modernization and construction projects for school districts and colleges throughout Southern California.We pride ourselves on strong client partnerships, consistent performance, and maintaining the highest standards in the industry. Job Overview:The Construction Project Manager serves as a key liaison between subcontractors, clients, and the internal operations team from project award through closeout. This role is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and execution of public works construction projects to ensure they meet design specifications, schedule requirements, budget goals, and prevailing wage compliance.The Project Manager establishes and maintains project governance by implementing standards, processes, and tools that support efficient project delivery. This role requires a strong understanding of construction methods, project controls, and public agency requirements, along with the ability to proactively identify challenges and drive solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee the full project lifecycle from initiation through closeout, ensuring delivery aligns with scope, schedule, budget, and specificationsManage day-to-day operations on active job sites and overall project executionDevelop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, cash flow, and cost controlsCreate and manage master project schedules, including milestones and timelinesAct as the primary liaison between clients, subcontractors, inspectors, and internal teams to ensure clear and consistent communicationCollaborate with architects, engineers, and stakeholders throughout all project phasesConduct project meetings and provide regular status updates to clients and executive leadershipPrepare, submit, and manage all project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, change orders, daily logs, and closeout packagesReview plans, specifications, and contracts to ensure compliance with design intent and regulatory requirementsMaintain accurate and organized project records for tracking and reportingManage subcontractor performance, including scope adherence, scheduling, quality, and contract complianceOversee procurement processes, including subcontractor selection, contract negotiations, and vendor coordinationSupport preconstruction efforts, including bid support, proposal preparation, and bid package developmentConduct site inspections to monitor progress, ensure quality standards, and resolve field issues in a timely mannerIdentify and mitigate project risks, delays, and conflicts to maintain project performanceEnsure compliance with contract requirements, prevailing wage laws, certified payroll, safety standards, OSHA regulations, and public agency requirementsLead and enforce job site safety practices and standardsMonitor project performance, manpower, and productivity to ensure efficiency and cost controlAnalyze project data to identify improvements and cost-saving opportunitiesSupervise and provide direction to Project Coordinators to support workflow, consistency, and team efficiencyQualifications & ExperienceMinimum 8+ years of construction project management experience, including public works and prevailing wage projectsBachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field (preferred)Construction Project Management certification (preferred but not required)Strong knowledge of project workflows, including submittals, RFIs, change orders, and closeout processesSolid understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, and cost controlExperience with public works compliance, documentation, and regulatory requirementsProven experience managing subcontractors, vendors, and field teamsBackground in public works construction, including modernization and retrofit projectsProficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam) and Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documentsStrong risk assessment, problem-solving, and analytical skills, including value engineering capabilitiesExcellent organizational skills with high attention to detailStrong leadership presence with the ability to motivate and guide teamsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProfessional demeanor with the ability to represent the company with integrityBenefits401(k) retirement planPaid vacation and sick timeHoliday payScheduleFull-time | Monday–Friday | 8-hour shift | Onsite
