Integration Technician
Position OverviewThe Integration Technician supports the Integration Supervisor by executing assigned in-house builds and on-site integration work for custom backup power solutions. This role assembles, wires, and terminates UPS (uninterruptible power supply) systems, DC power systems (rectifiers, battery strings, and distribution), and distribution equipment (panels, breakers, and power distribution units), and integrates components into custom enclosures/cabinets. Responsibilities include following electrical schematics and panel layouts; installing bus bars, grounding/bonding, conduit/raceway, cable management, and labeling; and performing functional checks and basic commissioning such as continuity/torque verification, polarity checks, insulation testing as applicable, and operational verification of alarms/monitoring and power paths prior to shipment or turnover at the job site.Reporting RelationshipThe Integration Technician reports to the Integration SupervisorIntegration Technician Responsibilities/AccountabilitiesIntegration assembly/fabrication - Builds and fabricates integration projects by executing the defined scope of work and work instructions provided by the Integration Supervisor.Scope input and troubleshooting - Provides real-time feedback on scope and execution; assists with troubleshooting and resolving unforeseen electrical and mechanical integration issues.Codes and standards - Installs, wires, and terminates electrical devices in accordance with applicable company standard practices and workmanship.Inventory maintenance - Performs recharge/maintenance charging of stock UPS systems and batteries per established procedures.Cross-functional support - Assists other departments with tasks and projects as needed to meet business and customer requirements.Housekeeping and safety - Keeps integration floor areas clean, organized, and free of debris/trash; maintains a safe work environment.Other duties - Perform other duties and assignments as necessary.RequirementsSkills/KnowledgeElectrical fundamentals - Demonstrates basic electrical theory and practical wiring knowledge.Mechanical aptitude - Strong mechanical aptitude, including the ability to assemble, align, and mount components and hardware.Troubleshooting - Demonstrated creative, hands-on problem-solving skills for electrical/mechanical integration challenges.Technical documentation - Ability to read and interpret basic electrical and mechanical drawings/prints (schematics, layouts, and wiring diagrams).Work management - Able to prioritize work, manage time effectively, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.Communication - Ability to take direction and communicate effectively with the Integration Project Manager and senior leadership.Customer focus - Strong verbal and written communication skills with a customer-service mindset.Material handling - Demonstrates safe and proper use of material-handling equipment.Tools/test equipment - Proficient with basic hand/power tools and common electrical test equipment (e.g., multimeter) appropriate to the role.Personal AttributesDemonstrates innovation and creativity in approach to work.Demonstrates reliable attendance and punctuality.Demonstrates a strong work ethic and takes ownership of company and client objectives.Customer-focused, with a commitment to understanding, meeting, and exceeding customer expectations.Demonstrated ability to complete tasks within established timelines and schedules.Demonstrates honesty and integrity in work performed and professional relationships.Collaborative and team-oriented, focused on mutual success for the company and its employees.Policy compliance - Adheres to company policies and procedures, including the Employee Handbook, Ethics Policy, and Safety Policy.Travel expectations: May require some overnight travelPosting QualificationsHigh school diplomaExperience in an electrical field preferredAbility to work at various heightsAbility to lift items greater than 25lbs (and up to 150 lbs.) on a regular basisAbility to maintain a valid driver's licenseMust pass a physical exam, background check and drug screeningAt HM Cragg, we invest in your growth with training, tuition assistance, and development opportunities, including the potential for advancement within the company.
