Instructional Aide - RenewEd 26-27 School Year

RenewEd is looking for an instructional aide for the 2026-2027 school year. Purpose StatementInstructional Aide positions are for the purpose of providing a variety of complex support processes to the instructional program within the assigned setting(s) with specific responsibility for assisting and designing the daily care of students with significant learning challenges.Responsibilities include observing and documenting student academic and emotional progress, implementing plans for instruction, making recommendations for improved care and instruction, and addressing any healthcare needs of students.Instructional Aide positions in the alternative settings support students with significant social emotional or behavioral health needs. Programs have a strong focus on social and emotional learning, building skills for independence, and transitioning students back to their home school.Communication, trauma informed practices, and collaboration are all valuable skills for this position.? This position will support students in a variety of programs and settings by; implementing student plans, documenting student behavior; and providing information to teachers, parents and/or other personnel.This job reports to the Building Administrator(s) and or Professional StaffEssential FunctionsSupervise students in the alternative setting, in their home schools, and the communityImplement individualized learning plans, collect any necessary data, and collaborate on the continued development of student programmingMaintain accurate records in reference to the programMaintain confidentiality according to district policy and procedures as well as FERPA lawsCollaborate with all program staff on individual student programs, building systems, and processesProvides verbal and/or written feedback of observations for the purpose of informing teacher/s and other personnel of students' progressBehavioral Interventions: Provide direct behavioral interventions to teach communication, social, and daily living skills while reducing problematic behaviors in various environmentsImplement Crisis Procedures: Implement crisis/emergency procedures according to protocolThis position requires prompt and consistent attendanceAdapt or modify instructional activities under the direction of the classroom teacher and/or program staff with the purpose of supporting, implementing, and reinforcing student learningAttend meetings and in-service presentations as directed by the building administrator (CPI, MANDT, emergency procedures, etc.) for the purpose of acquiring and conveying information relative to job functionsOperates equipment (assistive technology, devices, etc.) to support the delivery of instructional programsOther FunctionsPerform other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the classroom/program/schoolSkills, Knowledge and AbilitiesSKILLSPerform multiple tasks with a potential need to upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions.Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include operating standard office equipment including pertinent software applications.KNOWLEDGE is required toPerform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percentages, and/or ratiosRead a variety of manuals, write documents following prescribed formats, and/or present information to others; and solve practical problems.Specific knowledge-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include behavior and crisis management techniques; instruction techniques; and elementary - high school curriculum.ABILITIESSchedule activities and/or meetingsCollate datause basic, job-related equipmentFlexibility is required to work with others in a wide variety of circumstancesWork with data utilizing defined but different processes; and operate equipment using defined methods.Work with a diversity of individuals and/or groupsWork with a variety of data; and utilize job-related equipmentProblem solving is required to analyze issues and create action plansProblem solving with data requires independent interpretation of guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is limited to moderateSpecific ability-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include maintaining confidentiality; working with frequent interruptions; communicating in a positive, non-threatening manner; and building effective relationships with teachers, staff, and students.ResponsibilityResponsibilities include working under limited supervision following standardized practices and/or methods; leading, guiding, and/or coordinating others. There is a continual opportunity to have some impact on the organization's services.Work EnvironmentPhysical demands include lifting up to 50 pounds, carrying clients with adaptive equipment, assuming and maintaining various postures (kneeling, squatting, crawling, sitting, standing) for extended periods, and performing manual dexterity tasks for data collection. Requires the ability to restrain/hold/transport and use quick body movements as indicated in the Behavior Intervention Plan. Must be physically present at the assigned job location, which may include home, school, and community placements. Visual and auditory acuity is required to read and comprehend written communication and receive detailed information. Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between job sites are necessary.Experience: Experience working with high school students, preferredEducation: High school diploma or equivalentClearances: Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background ClearanceFSLA Status: Non-Exempt
