Benefits & Leave Representative

The Benefits & Leave Representative serves as the primary point of contact for employees with benefit and leave-related inquiries. This role provides front-line support, guidance, and transactional assistance for benefit enrollment and leave processes, ensuring a high level of customer service and timely resolution.The Representative follows established policies, procedures, and guidelines to assist employees and escalates complex or sensitive issues to senior team members as appropriate.Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions) Common job activities are listed below; actual position responsibilities may vary. Refer to your manager or human resources for specific duties and performance expectations.Provide customer-focused support to employees navigating benefits, leave of absence, accommodations, and workers’ compensation processes.Respond to employee inquiries by providing accurate information on benefit eligibility, enrollment, leave processes, and available resources.Support benefits administration activities, including new hire enrollment, life events, and annual enrollment, following established proceduresAssist employees with initiating leave requests and direct them to the third-party leave administrator as appropriate.Process and maintain benefit and leave transactions in the HR system (UKG), ensuring accuracy and timely updates.Maintain and organize documentation, including handling sensitive medical information in accordance with privacy guidelines such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.Monitor cases and follow up with employees or vendors to ensure timely completion of required steps.Escalate complex, sensitive, or non-routine issues to Benefits & Leave Specialists or leadership for further review.Provide general guidance on company policies and procedures related to benefits and leave, referring complex questions for interpretation as needed.Support coordination of open enrollment and new hire benefits orientation activities.Performance ExpectationsMeet all performance and behavior expectations outlined in the company performance appraisal form or communicated by management.Perform responsibilities as directed achieving desired results within expected time frames and with a high degree of quality and professionalism.Establish and maintain positive and productive work relationships with all staff, customers and business partners.Demonstrate the behavioral and technical competencies necessary to effectively complete job responsibilities. Take personal initiative for technical and professional development.Follow the company HR Policy, the Code of Business Conduct and all subsidiary and department policies and procedures, including protecting confidential company information, attending work punctually and regularly, and following good safety practices in all activities.QualificationsEducation:Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.Experience1-2+ years of experience in HR, customer service, or benefits/leave administration preferred.Exposure to HR systems such as UKG, Oracle, or ADP.Knowledge And SkillsStrong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.Ability to follow established processes and apply guidelines to routine situations.Basic problem-solving skills, including identifying issues, gathering information, and escalating when appropriate.Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.Working knowledge of benefits and leave processes, with general familiarity with laws such as the Family and Medical Leave Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn HR systems and tools.Ability to work independently within defined guidelines and collaborate with team members.Other (licenses, Certifications, Schedule Flexibility/OT, Travel, Etc.)Completion of specialized certification or training on FMLA/ADA administration preferred.Location: This position is open to remote work hiring within the U.S. mainland, or if the candidate is local to the Eden Prairie, MN home office, will be on-site (HYBRID) at this location on Tuesdays, with work from home flexibility.Wage: $29.81 - $35.10 hourly; actual wage is based upon education and experience.Benefits: Full suite of benefits including Medical, Health Savings Account, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Paid Vacation (PTO), 401(k) with employer match, Flexible Spending Account, and Employee Assistance Program (EAP)Equal Opportunity Employer
