Monrovia Gardens Healthcare Center - Urgently hiring for the PM shiftPOSITION SUMMARYThe purpose of your job position is to provide each resident with routine daily nursing care in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards that govern the facility and as directed by your supervisors.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESEnsuring that all nursing care is provided in privacyChecking vital signsDressing woundsInserting cathetersListening to residents and their familiesAddressing questions/concerns of residentsPerforming accurate and detailed charting of resident progress notesTimely reporting of change in resident's condition to the nurse supervisorAssisting and supervising CNAsEnsuring equipment is in good operating orderMonitoring residents that are at risk for fallsCollecting lab samplesAbiding with all facility policies and procedures including not disclosing user ID codes and passwordsFollowing Infection and Control policiesReporting any occupational exposures to blood, body fluids, or other hazardous materials to a supervisor immediatelyAttending annual facility in-service training programsCompleting other assignments when requested by managementEvery effort has been made to identify the essential functions of this position. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or is an essential function of the position.REQUIREMENTSEducation / LicensureCompletion of LVN training from accredited school or collegeValid LVN license in good standingValid CPR and BLS cardIV Certification is a plusQualifications / ExperienceMinimum of 1 year of skilled nursing experience preferredMust be able to speak, read, write and comprehend the English languageAbility to use computer or tablet to enter resident dataWorking ConditionsMay encounter frequent interruptionsMay be involved with residents, family and government agenciesMay be requested to work beyond scheduled working hours at timesIs subject to call-back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.)May be subjected to odors, dust, disinfectants, tobacco smoking or air contaminantsMay be exposed to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including TB and the AIDS and Hepatitis B virusesMay be exposed to or handle hazardous chemicalsPhysical RequirementsMust be able to move intermittently throughout the dayWorking throughout the nursing areasMust be able to lift up to 25 pounds. Lifting more weight up to 100 pounds requires assistanceAbility to read fine print on tablet, progress notes and/or medical labels
