Strategic Financial Analyst
Thunderbird Manufacturing LLC is seeking a highly analytical Strategic Finance Analyst to support financial planning, forecasting, and strategic analysis across the organization. This role will play a critical part in financial modeling, forecasting, and evaluating strategic initiatives, including acquisitions and capital investments. This position offers high visibility with executive leadership, including direct exposure to the CEO, and will support key financial decisions that impact the company's growth and long-term strategy. The role provides an opportunity to work closely with the CEO and VP of Finance on strategic initiatives including acquisitions, capital planning, and financial modeling.The role will involve building financial models used to evaluate strategic investments, acquisitions, and capital allocation decisions.The ideal candidate will have strong financial modeling skills, experience working with complex financial data, and the ability to translate financial analysis into actionable insights for leadership. Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Modeling & Strategic AnalysisBuild and maintain the company's integrated 3-statement financial model (income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow) to support forecasting, scenario planning, and strategic decision-makingDevelop and maintain financial and transaction models to evaluate mergers, acquisitions, and strategic investmentsPerform scenario modeling and sensitivity analysis to support executive decision-makingProvide ad hoc financial analysis to support operational and strategic initiatives M&A and Strategic Initiative SupportSupport financial analysis and modeling related to potential acquisitionsAssist leadership with deal evaluation, financial diligence, and transaction analysis for potential acquisitionsAssist with M&A diligence, including financial review, data analysis, and integration planning supportPartner with leadership and external advisors during transaction evaluation and diligence processes Cash Flow & Liquidity ManagementBuild and maintain the company's 13-week rolling cash flow forecastMonitor liquidity, working capital trends, and short-term cash needsProvide periodic cash reporting and variance analysis to leadership Budgeting & ForecastingDevelop and maintain rolling financial forecasts for internal management and lending partnersSupport preparation and management of the annual operating plan and capital expenditure budgetMaintain rolling bank and management forecasts aligned with operational performance Pricing & Margin AnalysisConduct product, customer, and business unit margin analysisEvaluate pricing strategies and profitability improvement opportunitiesIdentify financial and operational drivers affecting margin performance Business PartnershipCollaborate with operational leaders to analyze financial performance and provide actionable insightsSupport leadership with financial data and analysis required for strategic planningPrepare financial analysis and materials used in executive and CEO-level discussionsQualificationsRequiredBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field2-5 years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, transaction advisory, consulting, investment banking, or strategic financeStrong financial modeling and advanced Excel skillsExperience building financial forecasts and financial modelsStrong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills PreferredExperience supporting M&A analysis, deal evaluation, or transaction diligenceExperience with cash flow forecastingFamiliarity with ERP or financial planning softwareMBA, CFA, or CPA a plus Company OverviewAt Thunderbird, the collaborative relationship with our parent and partner companies allows us to better serve our customers - now and in the future.
