The developer will support the overall website ecosystem including performance, security, monitoring, and user experience. The environment consists of 100+ school websites, a district public website, and an internal staff site with 350+ content contributors.Responsibilities:• Develop and maintain WordPress multisite environments• Assess websites and recommend performance and usability improvements• Collaborate with SPS web services team and hosting vendor• Support DevOps processes including deployment, release management, and uptime monitoring• Configure and maintain WordPress CMS for performance and security• Manage version control for WordPress core, themes, and plugins• Implement API integrations and new feature enhancements• Perform database creation, maintenance, and backups• Conduct reporting, performance tracking, and retrospectives• Ensure cross-platform compatibility and responsive design• Optimize website performance and scalability• Ensure WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility compliance• Maintain WordPress and plugin security with regular patching• Communicate technical solutions effectively to stakeholdersRequired/Preferred Skills:• 5+ years of professional web development experience• Strong Full Stack WordPress development expertise• Experience with WordPress multisite architecture• Proficiency in PHP, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5, CSS• Experience with Git/version control systems• Experience with REST APIs and integrations• Strong knowledge of WordPress security and plugin management• Familiarity with monitoring tools (ThousandEyes, New Relic, SolarWinds)• Strong understanding of WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills• Experience managing and supporting large-scale website environmentsV Group Inc. is a NJ-based IT Services and Products Company with its business strategically categorized in various Business Units including Public Sector, Enterprise Solutions, Professional Services, Ecommerce, Projects, and Products.
