Accounting Clerk
We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounting Clerk to join a construction-focused organization in Overland Park, Kansas. This contract opportunity with permanent potential is ideal for someone who is comfortable working in QuickBooks and enjoys supporting day-to-day accounting operations with accuracy and consistency. The person in this role will contribute across payable and receivable activities, maintain organized financial records, and help keep transactional workflows moving efficiently. There is room to grow into additional accounting responsibilities over time, including account reconciliation, based on performance and capability.Responsibilities:• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions with a strong focus on timeliness and accuracy.• Enter financial and vendor information into QuickBooks and internal records while maintaining clean, organized data.• Review and pair invoices with supporting documentation to ensure correct coding and payment handling.• Assist with the creation and tracking of purchase orders, with training available for candidates who have limited prior experience in this area.• Monitor outstanding items and communicate with internal stakeholders to help resolve billing or payment discrepancies.• Maintain orderly accounting files and supporting documentation for routine financial activity.• Support the accounting team with high-volume data entry and other transactional tasks as needed.• Take on expanded accounting duties over time, including reconciliation work, as skills and performance develop.• Hands-on experience using QuickBooks in an accounting or bookkeeping environment.• Working knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.• Ability to manage detailed data entry with a high level of accuracy.• Experience reviewing invoices and matching them to appropriate records or supporting documents.• Familiarity with purchase orders or willingness to learn this function through on-the-job training.• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple routine tasks efficiently.• Detail-oriented communication skills and a dependable, team-oriented work style.Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
