Our work depends on a TS/SCI cleared DevOps Engineer, Sr. joining our team to support our intelligence customer in St. Louis, MO or Springfield, VA.How a Devops Engineer Will Make An ImpactIn this role, you'll join our Common Operations Release Environment (CORE) team, providing high-quality, cost-effective cloud solutions to our clients. Be part of a dynamic environment where your expertise in cloud operations will drive significant enhancements in the efficiency and effectiveness of our customers’ operations. As a DevOps Engineer on our team, you will be responsible for distributed and managed services automating the installation, configuration and maintenance of platform services.Specific Duties And Responsibilities:Automate and optimize service deploymentsIntegrate with enterprise authentication servicesEstablish and Improve system monitoring while maintaining established security protocols within development, test, and production systems.Architect, build and maintain On-Prem and cloud infrastructure to support team and customer initiativesMaintain and improve existing infrastructure (build out autoscaling, support new services, optimize for cost efficiencies/authentication/search, etc.)Administer production, staging and development environmentsManage and aggregate server logs and monitor for security and system related incidentsMonitor and analyze system performance, such as server load and resource usageMaintain and improve existing build and deployment processes using CI/CD toolsApply configuration management disciplines to maintain software revisions, security patches, hardening, and documentationEnforce best practices for security and reliability, and drive security initiatives, like access control and vulnerability testingWork with A&A Teams to maintain security requirements for operation of systemsMaintain documentation of designs/configurations, ensuring team members have continuity of recurring tasksFollow up on engineering tasks for operational solutions, and validate completionManage operational readiness board – present at weekly meetings and determine if development services are ready for automation based on best practices and maintainabilityTrack and ensure routine operations maintenance tasks are completed in a timely mannerParticipant in SAFe and Scrum development teams and meetingsOn-call support will be required8+ years of relevant experienceRequired Skills:Experience working with container images and platforms (Kubernetes/Docker/OpenShift)Strong understanding of DevOps and software/application development processesUnderstanding of GitLab or other DevOps/Continuous Integration toolsUnderstanding of microservice design and architectural pattern best practicesUnderstanding of Python, Bash, and Shell scriptingKnowledge of network technologies, common infrastructure components, load balancers, firewalls, virtual and physical infrastructure designStrong problem solving and troubleshooting skillsStrong communication and interpersonal skillsMust possess excellent time management skills and the drive to work unsupervisedExperience with deploying On-Prem infrastructureDesired Skills:Experience in building processes for deploying to a Kubernetes based environment using Gitlab and HelmUnderstanding of access management and security groups (i.e. IAM, S3 bucket, SSH, VPN, etc.)Ability to write and use unit and functional testingExperience using Jira and ConfluenceLocation: On Customer SiteUS Citizenship RequiredGDIT IS YOUR PLACEAt GDIT, the mission is our purpose, and our people are at the center of everything we do.Growth: AI-powered career tool that identifies career steps and learning opportunitiesSupport: An internal mobility team focused on helping you achieve your career goalsRewards: Comprehensive benefits and wellness packages, 401K with company match, and competitive pay and paid time offCommunity: Award-winning culture of innovation and a military-friendly workplaceOWN YOUR OPPORTUNITYExplore an enterprise IT career at GDIT and you’ll find endless opportunities to grow alongside colleagues who share your desire to drive operations forward.#RoverGSSThe likely salary range for this position is $138,550 - $187,450.
