Onto Innovation strives to optimize customers’ critical path of progress by making them smarter, faster and more efficient.Role OverviewJob Summary & ResponsibilitiesThe Accounts Receivable Manager will oversee the Company’s end‑to‑end AR function, including billing, collections, cash application, and AR accounting. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate receivables, minimizing credit risk, improving cash flow, and maintaining strong internal controls, while leading and developing the AR team.Key ResponsibilitiesAR Operations & Cash ManagementOversee all AR activities, including billing, collections, cash application, and dispute resolution.Monitor customer balances, aging, and collection trends; drive timely resolution of past‑due receivables.Partner with Sales and Customer Success to resolve billing issues and improve collections outcomes.Support cash forecasting by providing insights into collection timing and risks.Accounting & Close ResponsibilitiesManage AR‑related month‑end close activities, including:AR reconciliationsRevenue and billing tie‑outs (in coordination with Revenue Accounting)Allowance for doubtful accounts analysis and entriesEnsure AR balances are accurate and align with U.S. GAAP.Review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.Credit & Risk ManagementOversee customer credit reviews, credit limits, and approvals.Assess collectability risk and support bad debt reserve methodology.Escalate high‑risk accounts appropriately.Controls, Compliance & AuditOwn and execute SOX controls related to AR, billing, and cash receipts.Serve as primary AR contact for external auditors.Ensure strong documentation and audit readiness.Team Leadership & DevelopmentLead, coach, and develop AR analysts and/or supervisors.Establish clear KPIs (e.g., DSO, past‑due %, dispute aging).Drive consistent processes, accountability, and continuous improvement.Process Improvement & SystemsIdentify opportunities to streamline AR processes and improve automation.Partner on system enhancements or ERP improvements affecting billing or cash application.Improve scalability as transaction volume grows.QualificationsRequired~6–8+ years of progressive accounting or AR experience.Prior experience managing accounts receivable operations and teams.Strong understanding of AR accounting, revenue/billing processes, and U.S. GAAP.Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.Experience working in a SOX‑compliant environment.PreferredCPA or relevant accounting certification.Experience in capital manufacturing a plusERP experience (e.g., Oracle).Experience partnering closely with Sales or Commercial teams.Key Success AttributesStrong attention to detail with an operational mindsetAbility to balance collections rigor with customer relationshipsConfident people leader with process‑oriented thinkingComfortable handling escalations and judgment‑based decisionsProactive, solution‑oriented approach to cash flow improvementWhy Join Onto Innovation?At Onto Innovation, we believe your work should matter—and so should your well-being.
