Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical/Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years License: RN License required (WV or Compact) Certifications: BLS, Chemotherapy Administration (preferred) Must-Have: Telemetry experience Central line draws Ports Blood administration PCA pumps Bone marrow aspiration assist Pleurx chest tubes Description: The position focuses on medical and surgical patients battling cancer. The role includes palliative care and family education regarding oncological processes. Urology and telemetry patients are also included in this specialty. The nurse will work a night shift from 7 PM to 7 AM. Every other weekend is required. The nurse may be floated to like units to meet facility needs. Patient ratios are typically 5-6 patients per nurse at night. Experience in chemotherapy administration is preferred. The facility has a diverse patient demographic in a 29-bed unit. The registered nurse will be responsible for monitoring patient conditions and administering medications. A strong emphasis will be placed on engaging in interdisciplinary support and care. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of RN experience.
