Spirit Defense is an independent supplier to the defense and space marketplace. Through innovative engineering and rapid prototyping excellence, Spirit Defense provides the capabilities, technologies and support customers need to succeed in their missions.Position Responsibilities:Apply knowledge of systems engineering and physical science principles in order to analyze and forecast the weight, balance, and mass properties of aerospace vehiclesApply knowledge of physical properties of engineering materials, actual weighing techniques, and standard sections in order to optimize weights design criteria and mission performanceAbility to estimate, calculate, accurately measure, and verify mass, weight, and stiffness of components and assembliesAbility to generate weight reports, weights accounting, and support system weight design optimizationBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program2+ years working as an engineer in a related fieldMass Properties experienceExperience with 3D solid modeling software applications (e.g. NX, Catia, CADD)Experience with three-dimensional parametric modeling using NX/Teamcenter or CATIA/ENOVIA methods and toolsCandidates must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearancePreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):* 5+ years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experienceUnion:This is a union-represented position.Drug Free Workplace:We are a Drug Free Workplace where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.Pay & Benefits:We strive to deliver a Total Rewards package that will attract, engage and retain the top talent.
