Integration Coordinator
Akkodis is proud to partner with an automotive client who is seeking an Integration Coordinator to serve as a key liaison across engineering organizations, ensuring successful coordination and integration of hardware and software development activities within the powertrain and chassis domains.This role will function as the central point of coordination between Feature Partners, Design Responsible Engineers (DREs), Function Owners (FOs), and testing teams to ensure all components, software, and system features are delivered on time and ready for vehicle integration and validation for a contractual opportunity in the Novi, MI area. Pay Range: $45/hr. - $50/hr. (W2) - The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of drivetrain systems integration, including ECUs, modules, inverters, brake systems, powertrain controls, and software/hardware development timing.ResponsibilitiesCoordinate drive system development activities across powertrain and chassis hardware and software teams.Track timing, progress, and milestone adherence for Feature Partners (FPs), ensuring alignment across functional groups.Monitor hardware development activities and timing of Design Responsible Engineers (DREs).Track Function Owner (FO) deliverables and feature readiness status.Develop, maintain, and communicate integrated program timelines for drive system development activities.Track hardware maturity and availability for ECUs and related drive system components, including prototype and sample stages.Monitor software development status and maturity across multiple ECUs supporting drive system features.Integrate hardware, software, and feature timing into a cohesive development plan that supports vehicle build and test readiness.Identify program risks, timing concerns, and integration challenges that may impact development milestones.Work with engineering stakeholders to develop mitigation plans and resolve timing conflicts.Escalate critical issues and dependency concerns when development activities are not progressing according to plan.Support software change coordination and implementation activities.Ensure vehicle hardware and software are available and aligned for validation trips, testing events, and development milestones.Act as the primary integration anchor between functional owners, DREs, and vehicle development teams.Qualifications5-15 years of experience in automotive engineering, systems integration, powertrain development, or related disciplines.Strong knowledge of vehicle integration processes within drivetrain, propulsion, powertrain, or chassis development environments.Experience coordinating development activities involving:ECUsElectronic modulesInvertersBrake systemsPowertrain systemsEmbedded softwareUnderstanding of hardware and software release processes, maturity tracking, and system readiness planning.Experience working with cross-functional engineering teams, including DREs, Function Owners, calibration teams, and testing organizations.Strong project coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.Ability to identify schedule risks and drive resolution activities across multiple stakeholders.Preferred QualificationsSystems Engineering experience.Experience supporting vehicle integration, prototype builds, or validation programs.Background in electrified propulsion systems, drive systems, or advanced vehicle development.Familiarity with software change management processes within automotive development programs.What We're Looking ForA highly organized and proactive engineering professional.Someone who understands the importance of having the right hardware and software available when vehicle testing begins.A coordinator who can connect multiple teams, drive accountability, minimize risk, and keep complex development programs on track.A strong communicator capable of influencing stakeholders across engineering organizations and ensuring successful vehicle integration readiness.If you are interested in this Integration Coordinator job located in Dearborn, MI please apply.
